Colostrum question (final update I swear)

Hi ladies,
I called my nurse line earlier about the stomach bug just to be sure I didn't need to do anything besides hydrate. I also mentioned to her that I have been leaking a bit of blood in my colostrum and asked if it was normal. She said no, seemed a bit concerned, and then just told me to make sure I let the dr know at my next appointment in a week. Should I be concerned? It seemed as though it isn't common but I thought if it was not common that she would ask me to come in today. Now I'm kind of freaking out a little. Anyone else have this issue?

** update ** Well I went to the restroom a little bit ago and there was some old blood on the tp so I'm headed to the doc to check it out. The nurse said I might have been mistaking stomach cramps from the bug for contractions so we'll see what happens. Hope this little girl keeps cooking! We need more time!!!

Updated again... Cervix is closed and all looks good, no idea where that blood came from. She is, however, sending me to get a breast ultrasound to see what is going on with the blood there. Hopefully I can schedule for next week. Thanks for your thoughts, ladies! I really appreciate it!

All looks good from ultrasound. Not sure why it is happening but at least we know it's not cancer or something concerning at the moment. The tech was not very friendly and it didn't seem appropriate to ask her to head 3 inches down to see little girl, so no freebie peek today. It did really make me want to go to a 3d/4d place, it's so stressful not seeing her and knowing there are no other scans planned.

I don't have any advice or experience, but just wanted to offer you some support, love. If you are concerned, t can't hurt to give the office a call back and ask them to run it by the doctor.

Definetly ask your doctor. I know blood mixing with breastmilk isnt uncommon when there is nip damage...though if you arent nursing yet that may not be your issue. Any hard/warm/painful spots on your breasts? Thinking maybe a clogged duct.

I don't have any advice about your colostrum question, but my first guess would be a clogged duct? Or something related? I had mastitis while nursing DD but never had any blood or anything like that.I had begun leaking colostrum around 30weeks too, fwiw. I would suggest giving your dr a call back just to make sure it's not some sort of infection. I hope you get some answers and that it clears up. Lots of love and support.

Thanks ladies. I'm a Ftm so no damage from previous BFing and I've been leaking for a few weeks now but it just seemed to turn pinkish this morning. Nothing is tender or sore, and my nips are not cracked or dry or anything. Maybe I will call and ask for the on-call doc instead of a nurse, just to be sure.

Big (((hugs))). If you have had a stomach bug and had any vomiting, your cervix may just be irritated. Hoping it is something small and not significant. Fingers crossed for a good update. Keep us posted and keep on cooking, LO!

I had an issue back in 2011 with leaking dark/old blood from my right breast. I had my m/c about 5 months prior to this. I went to a breast specialist and she said that my breast was very "grainy", possibly from caffeine. I had taken a picture of the blood to show her, and she thought it was the result of a small cyst that had ruptured. I had an ultrasound as well, and everything came back fine.

Fast forward to 2012, I got pregnant and never had any issues. I breastfed DD for 14 months and haven't seen a drop of blood since. I hope all is well and everything is fine!

@kbhaynes that makes me feel better! I really would like to EBF so any issues before she is even here scare me a bit. Hopefully they can fit me in this week and there's nothing wrong!
