Oh geez- post partum rash anyone?

I swear, this has been the pregnancy of bizarro symptoms for me! Everyday is some other weird issue that makes the drs say hmmmm. This morning, I woke up and noticed raised red itchy bumps on the tops of my feet. Later noticed similar patches on my back and on the backs of my thighs. I've already got a major allergic reaction at my incision site (although it is slowly improving with the steroid ointment). Just left a message for my Ob to see if I can use the same steroid on these patches or what she recommends. This sucks! I'm tired of itching!

  • Yikes! No experience with this, but I hope it clears up quickly for you!

  • I got red itchy rash on my hands and feet during the first week pp. Thankfully it went away by the end of week 2! Another strange side effect is my feet get super hot and sweaty when I BF. I hate BF in socks!

  • I had it! It was all over my face and chest and arms. I had an allergic reaction to the morphine after my csection. The doctors had me take benydryl religiously and that barely helped. I was so itchy and uncomfortable. I feel your pain and hope you get some relief soon!!

How long before yours appeared? I have wondered about it being related to a medicine- and the spots on my back are near the site of the spinal (although not directly?). I had been taking Percocet and just stopped yesterday. Wonder if it could be that clearing out of my system? Ughh... Who knows!

  • You can get PUPPs postpartum :/ I've noticed in the last week that I've got patches of the same rash I had during pregnancy (PUPPs) popping back up on my legs and chest/neck. I spent from Halloween until just a few days ago on steroids of some sort. Hopefully yours goes away quickly!

Mine was right away. I was hooked up to morphine for the pain medicine so everytime I hit the button to take more it would get worse. It took about 4 days for the rash to completely go away. The itch lasted about that long too. So that very easily could be a reaction to the Percocet!
  • Ob finally called back. She's not sure what to make of it but we had already discussed the fact that my body seems to be overreacting to everything and we know I'm in the middle of and autoimmune response from my thyroid levels being off for so long. So basically, she suspects it's a reaction to some med I've taken. I'm off the Percocet now and she also had me stop the antibiotics just in case it's that ( never been a problem before but who knows). She did have me add Claritin so maybe that will stop it from spreading. So fingers crossed that works!

I believe (but not 100% positive) that PUPPs avoids your hands, feet, and face. So if it's on your feet it probably isn't that. I would check into medicine you are on or just your body changing again because of everything going on!

Please tell that mine :/ lol it can spread there, and it when it does, it sucks. It can spread everywhere but routinely not your palms and soles......

Ugh I am so sorry!!  Mine stayed off of my feet, hands, and face.  I guess I should be thankful for small miracles :/

Actually, I do think it may be Post Partum PUPPS :-(. The pictures online look just like it and I've read enough posts now on other sites that yes, it CAN affect feet. My Ob was skeptical but my pedi said she had it and that's what she thinks it looks like. My Ob called in an oral steroid and now I'm off all Rx pain meds- only taking generic ibuprofen. Also stopped antibiotics. Trying to flush my system with water. It is WAY WORSE today. I'm miserable!
