Trubies, come in! (True Blood news?!)

OMG, a possible movie?!   ⇚ Clicky

Seriously, if this is true, I am so excited. Any other Trubies here? Do you think a TB movie would work?

Re: Trubies, come in! (True Blood news?!)

  • I love True Blood, but I don't know how I would feel about a movie.  Would they stick to the books, would it be a sequel to the show, a prequel, a trilogy or more?

    So many variables.

  • True Blood is my guilty pleasure show, so if there is a movie, I'll be all over that!!!
  • I love the idea of more True Blood, but I don't know how a movie would work.  I guess it depends where this season ends.  Do you read the books?  The last one of the series came out last year, but I never read it because it got such horrific reviews.
  • I love True Blood… but I'd really prefer the give the series a good settled ending. It seems like a movie might just stir up more issues to resolve. Unless it was more like a spin off, about the side characters. Then I could go for it!

  • The last book was good, but really the very ending was not done well.  No lead up, just "this is the end"  It didn't feel like the end of a series.

  • laceyjean1 - I agree, It would have to depend on HOW they were going to do it, as excited as I would be about a TB movie, I would be nervous of some kind of chinsey plot with little character development just to fit within time restraints.

NoSoup4You - I attempted the books but TBH, I'm just not that into Charlaine Harris' writing style. So that would be a No. I do know that the show strays somewhat considerably from the books though, and I would think that they would do something similar with a movie.

  • I havent read the books, but DH and I got majority addicted to the series when it came out on Netflix. We're anxiously awaiting the next season, but I'm thinking thats gonna be a while. Maybe I should get into the books in the mean time. This is most certainly a guilty pleasure of ours!

  • I love the books, love love love! The show is ok. I would be interested in a movie, but I'm not sure how they'd pull it off. There are so many books, the show that's obviously doing it's own thing, actors that people already live as the characters. Hmmm maybe if they included Quinn.

  • I think it would all be in the execution.  There are enough interesting characters to keep a movie entertaining given a fresh and interesting storyline.  I would not want to see a movie focusing on minor characters, though; it annoys me enough when the show focuses on anyone who isn't Eric, Sookie, Bill, Pam, Jason, or Jessica.

Eh, Alcide is a little too beefy for my personal taste.  I liked him at first, but then I just got bored with the werewolf storylines.  I say Eric>Jason>Alcide>.........>Bill.

  • @vandelay Yeah, im mostly a beefy manly man type of gal, I guess you could say. So IMO, Alcide>Jason> Eric> Bill. Or something like that.

Whenever I have had a bad day I pick any one of my 13 Sookie books and life is good for 15 minutes again. I love, love them. I like the series as well, but a movie would be awesome!

I'm less interested in Jason when he's off on his own (Werepanthers). I do love Jessica.
