Went to the ER last night...

We have a very sick little guy. It started almost two weeks ago, and he still hasn't gotten better. He originally just had a virus.

Yesterday morning he started running a fever again, and last night it spiked at 105. We took him into the ER, and they think he just has another viral infection on top of the one he had previously.

We were able to leave later that night, but it just sucks seeing him so miserable for so long. Plus, the super high fevers are scary.

Just needed to vent. T&Ps appreciated.

You probably already know this, but alternating between infant Tylenol and infant Advil can lower a fever faster than either alone if you are concerned. Hope he gets better soon! Hugs!

@Drea926, he's still feeling terrible. His fever last night was 103, and it was still resting at 103 this morning.

They've told us he has another virus, but sent us with a prescription for antibiotics if his fever doesn't lower within a few days. The thought is that if the fever doesn't break, it may not be another virus-- rather, a bacterial infection developed from the first virus he had about ten days ago. I'm beginning to think it's the latter. I believe he may have developed a sinus infection, but we're holding off until later today to fill the Rx for the antibiotics. We want to make sure it's not a virus, because then the antibiotics will be pointless.

Sigh. I just want him to feel better!
