Fetal DNA Testing?

I went in for my first blood work appointment this morning and was thrilled to find out that they could tell me the gender of my baby in a week by fetal DNA testing through a blood sample. I thought I would have to wait until my 20 week ultrasound! Has anyone else found out this way? Is it pretty accurate?

Sounds like the Materniti21 or Harmony test. From what my doctor told me, they are 99% accurate.

It will be offered to me covered by insurance because of my age and high risk factors.

I had the harmony drawn on Feb 7th- still waiting for results!

The person who did my blood draw last week mentioned having this done and to bring it up with the OB. I guess the company that has the Harmony test is trying to push for it to be done for every pregnant woman, not just AMA or high risk. My insurance covers it, so I am hoping to have it done when I am far enough along.
