Yup, we're coming up on 9 months soon! Crazy, isn't it? We don't have solid plans yet, but I think we might be doing a brunch party with a Where the Wild Things Are theme.
I have been trying to figure out a way to do a Six Million Dollar Man theme, but apparently he just runs around in normal clothes pulling cars off people and stuff. Not much theme-able material there. But we may or may not be planning a little birthday tribute video, if we can figure out how to pull it off...."we can rebuild him! we have the technology!"
Oh, and we just talked to our wedding photographer about a first birthday shoot - so excited! We haven't had any professional photos done outside the NICU yet!

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Also, I was thinking it might not be a bad idea to make a 1st bday sticky. I could see that shizz getting out of hand otherwise.

I dont look at that part...but the count down to babys birthday scares me for sure! Last year this time that ticker couldnt get smaller fast enough...now it needs to slow down.
Havent really started planning but happy to be able to finally host something outside and even if we havent moved to a bigger house we can still have it here. DD1 is October and in WI that could be sun...or snow...and our house is too small to host anything inside.
I need to start figuring the party out! I love the Where the Wild things are theme, that will be so cute! Both my boys are July babies so I will have two parties to plan, the first year of many that I will have this challenge! I will have DS1 bday on 7/13, then a sales meeting and conference in Cali that week and next weekend. Then I'll come back and have to do DS2's bday on 7/25! I am a tad stressed about it.
I have a feeling we will be keeping both parties on the smaller side! last year I kinda went all out for DS1 and threw a pool party for 30-40 people outdoors in the heat of July at 9 months pregnant! I was all kinds of crazy hormonal trying to have the perfect party for him, since it was his last as an only child. Not going to go there again!
I'm already planning because I'll likely be induced two weeks after dd's first birthday. I'm a little afraid of being 34 weeks pregnant in the middle of the summer with thirty plus people in my house :-S
I've had a secret pinterest board for months. P is just over 8 months.
I knew there was another May baby and couldn't remember who it was, @KikiCohen I swear, I want my pre preg brain back!!!
I've had a pin board and some ideas, but no real planning.
Check you out, @PrimRoseMama! Want to plan mine too?
I love all the ideas I think I'm going to go with Winnie the Pooh as the theme. The characters have always been a favorite of mine and she loves her Pooh and Piglet dolls.
I have had a secret Pinterest board for awhile. But I am really sad at the thought of my baby being one.
I am going with gold, white and hints of mint and pink. Below are just a few of the ideas I like. I am also going to make a white tutu for Nadia and fill it either with gold sequins or pom poms. So I am keeping it simple and clean, not really a theme beyond number one and pretty colors. But I'll be making everything myself, so not really that simple I guess.

What did you delete, @MaryMQuiteContrary ?
Are you having a garden party for your LO? With silver bells and cockleshells and pretty maids all in a row?
Am I the only one not planning a bash? Someone please tell me it's okay if we just eat dinner and take a picture of him with a cupcake. :-S
I don't have the time or energy to plan something big. We will probably just do something small with family. I think the cake/cupcake is the most important part!
My LO is 8 months in about a week ( I don't know how he got to be so old.
But I want to do a party at a park with a splash pad and have a splish splash birthday bash. That way, I don't have to do any work, but there is plenty of entertainment.
I hate the big parties for ones that little- partly because he already has too many toys and even if you say no gifts it will happen. We will have our parents over for dinner and cake I am sure, but no big party or themes or special outfits.
I know, it has been very fast I don't want him to be one so soon! I don't think we'll do a party, just a cake for him to eat. Probably we'll spend his bday in Venice at the grandma's villa

I have a theme (You Are My Sunshine), lots of ideas from Pinterest, and a date (her actual birthday, because it is a Saturday). That's as much as I have... the location is stressing me out because we have a small apartment and our building has no party room - only a huge sun deck with no shade, which would be hard with little ones.

I am planning here!! I am debating a Holiday Monday afternoon party since it will be the long weekend and everyone will be cottaging. I plan to do a backyard bbq with a super hero theme (masks and capes). I have a couple of other themes I am thinking of too. Decisions decisions.
@joanna2004 We're doing Cat in The Hat for DS's party too! I have a crazy Pinterest board with a couple hundred pins of CITH parties, I'm so excited lol. I've already started buying stuff because I got a lot red & white striped stuff on clearance after vday(: Haven't decided yet if it'll be indoors or a pool party though...

Yaybaby01 Oh holy God! some of those are outrageous. But thanks for the link. There is way more to think about.
I have a pinterest board for DS birthday already, we are doing a monster theme. There are so many cute ideas out there. ETA: it will only be immediate family and a couple close friends but that will still be around 30-40 people. Thank goodness we can have it outside.
Re: Ya Know What's Scary?
We started talking about parties over the weekend. Step daughters birthdays are both July also. It's gonna be a busy month.

What's with that? Could something birthday related be worth a dd? Weird.
