Hi ladies! It's Sunday night and I start my new job tomorrow. I'm excited that it means more income on my part, but I'm still worried about DHs situation. On the bright side the weather this week is looking better & hopefully I can get outside for some long walks with the boys.
One of the things I really want to change up this week is to really focus more on healthier living in more than one way. I think sometimes we're so preoccupied with what people see that we ignore other issues that are going on in our lives that have contributed to our weight gain. Anyways, anyone is welcome to join in and NO you don't need to be on that official diet.

-How successful were you this week with your goals? Did Valentine's Day curtail your progress?
-Any new physical activity? Any workouts or exercises you've tried lately that are wonderful. I'd love to hear about it.
-Where are you at towards your overall goal? I think we're all taking baby steps but how successful are you at getting towards your overall goal so far?
GTKY: What has been your struggle? I'll elaborate in my response and it's something I really don't talk about much if at all.

Re: ****Healthy Living Check In****
-Any new physical activity? No new physical activity yet. I'd like to start a 30 minute workout at the house in the morning before the boys get up. I have some training to do early this week-so it's doubtful I'll start soon.
-Where are you at towards your overall goal? I think we're all taking baby steps but how successful are you at getting towards your overall goal so far? We'll even with the Valentine's Day fail...I am down10lbs. I still have about 20 lbs so we shall see.
GTKY: What has been your struggle? Depression. Not the PPD type either. I've learned over the years to smile through everything, so a lot of people probably do not have a clue. I don't do meds or current therapy, but I've pretty much learned how to deal with things on my own...sometimes in the way of stuffing my feelings with food or just not dealing with them.
Success this week/VDay impact: I did well. Thursday was my first WW weigh in and I was down 2.4 lbs. very excited about that. I got a nasty head cold and was sick as a dog on Friday, so we skipped DH's plans to make us a fancy dinner. So that saved me from cheating too badly.
New physical activity: none. I really don't see where there is time to exercise. I'm up at 5 to get ready for work and then deal with the kids, home at 6:30 to get them into bed at 7:30 and 8:30, and then either dinner and more work or dinner and collapsing into bed. Weekends are crammed too. Hoping it gets better when the weather improves and we can take a walk on the weekends.
Overall goal: I'd like to lose about 20 lbs but am more worried about how I feel than numbers on a scale. Short terms goal is to get back in my prepregnancy pants. I'm still wearing maternity pants to work (sssh. Don't tell anyone. Ha ha).
My struggle: emotional eating and internalizing my feelings of anxiety and self doubt. The rush of endorphins or whatever the sensation is can be hard to replace. Particularly when your self image is shot and your don't feel attractive at all. I look in the mirror and say "who is that old woman"...oh, that's just me. I am so tired an run down I can barely recognize myself anymore.

Motherhood is not for wimps
Spring is coming...I'm really hoping to get out for walks myself too. The boys love walks. Oh...just an FYI New York and Co has some dress pants with an elastic waist and they run a little big. Helps the self esteem.
I am in the same boat, Michbot. We are not picture people, so I usually do well at avoiding the camers. We had a photographer do family pics and baby pics of DD in November and I really did not want to be in them...and I am pretty mortified with the results that include me, but I know we MUST be in pics with our LOs so I try to grin and bear it (and hold one of them in front of me as cute camoflage).
DH's mother died when he was a child, and she she always hid from the camera...as a result, he has perhaps 2 pictures of him with her, total. It is very sad and God forbid that's ever an issue for us, but it makes me just suck it up and get in a photo every now and then to make sure there is a record that I existed no matter what shape I am in.

-Any new physical activity? Any workouts or exercises you've tried lately that are wonderful. I'd love to hear about it. Nothing yet. This will be my 3rd week of going to the gym everyday after work. Next week I'll start adding some strength training.
-Where are you at towards your overall goal? I think we're all taking baby steps but how successful are you at getting towards your overall goal so far? I'm still a long ways off. I'm really taking things slow. I began by just going to the gym and doing cardio every day. This week, I'm counting calories. Next week, I'll add a bit of strength training. Overall, I still have 25 lbs to lose.
GTKY: What has been your struggle? My struggle has been DH. He's a bit critical and it can really be a downer. Well this past weekend, he told me how proud he was of me and said that I was doing a freakin awesome job going to the gym. That really helped my motivation! But it's not just that... he's also the guy that struggles to keep weight on. He'll get mad at himself when he checks the scale and discovers he's lost weight. He's 6 foot and about 165 lbs, so he's thin. So that makes cooking difficult when he wants to gain, and I want to lose.
