Hi... I need some suggestions for finger foods for my twins. Right now they are only eating puffs Cheerios and had watermelon last night. They are 8.5 months. What are you feeding your LOs
I'm bad with doing the finger foods at home, but at daycare she has it all. Pancakes, French toast, eggs, fruit, chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta, veggies. At this point she gets anything as long as there's no peanuts or honey. Small pieces and stay by their side.
3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13
LO loves blueberries, strawberries and basically all fruits. He will eat some veggies like green beans and sweet potatoes. Sitter feeds him goldfish and vanilla wafers.
Grilled cheese, toast, pancakes, beans, small pieces of steamed veggies, especially sweet potato, carrots, squash and zucchini. She also likes little florets of broccoli and cauliflower. I make mac and cheese out of pasta that is made with 25% veggie puree, and she goes nuts for that. She also likes little pieces of roasted turkey and cheddar cheese. She is weird about fruit, she loves it but wont touch it, so I still have to make purees out of just about every type of fruit.
J is a fan of toast with hummus on it, cut up. And sliced baked sweet potato chips.
We tried this yesterday, but the sweet potatoes baked too soft and fell apart in his hands. How did you make them, if you don't mind an early June mom asking?

I put in microwave for one minute, then sliced into chip slices, brush olive oil on each side. I put a tiny bit of cinnamon and baked at 375 for 30 mins ,flipping once. You can probably skip the one minute in the microwave but my oven cooks slow. It is the slices in the bottom left of this photo.
@madams728 What is the brand of the pasta you get ?
It's Rienzi brand, and it's called i Bambini. I buy either the carrot, or the spinach and zucchini. She loves it. It's on the regular pasta aisle, and comes in a blue box.

Holy smokes I can't believe how much stuff your LO's have been eating. Mine is still gagging on puffs and sometimes even chokes. We've already had one bad incident and I'm scared now. Does anyone have any ideas of good ones to try first?

We did pieces of bananas and avacado first since there's really no chewing involved.
Emmett also can't handle chunks of anything. Oddly, he'll chow down on Mum Mum biscuits, but that's it. Even practically microscopic size chunks of anything else make him gag and choke. I'm beginning to think he'll go off to college still eating purées!

I was really terrified at first. I tore up tiny pieces of toast and dunked them in apple puree to make them mushy. She already had a good pincher grip, so she was able to pick them up. They didn't require a lot of chewing since they were mushy, and she loved them. Steamed cubed sweet potatoes, steamed down until really soft, don't require chewing, either. They just smush up in their mouth.
Re: Finger foods
I sometimes shred the chicken and make sandwich fingers for her. She loves this.
Thanks!
