Cheating Husbands Opinion

This probably isn't as juicy as your thought but I need your help to settle this petty argument! My husband, my brother in law and I are all in a disagreement about cheating. Help me settle it ladies!

One recent study(not sure how legit) stated that 55% of regular men cheat on their significant others. So then we all started talking about NFL players and how often they probably cheat. My husband played NFL Europe and college football and arena football so I am not trying to hate on NFL players or their characters BUT.....Out of 10 players, how many would you assume cheat on their girlfriends, fiances or wives?

  • Maybe I'm just naive.  55% of the population seems so high to me!  I would have never guessed that and I'm sure I'd be wrong if I tried to guess from the NFL population.

  • Nfl population 100%

Regular population...55% sounds reasonable. How did they define cheating?

  • @cl8badb I think it was more of an argument that since NFL players probably get more opportunities to cheat(between traveling and girls throwing themselves at them) then they may at some point give in compared to a regular guy who maybe doesn't get as many opportunities presented to him.  Not necessarily that being an athlete makes you cheat.  You also chose the exact number that my brother in law said. Dang 1 point for them haha.

@wasnotwas they defined cheating as only physical cheating. No emotional. So kissing, 2nd base, all the way type of cheating.

I originally said 9/10 but they called me crazy. They said it was more like 5 or 6 out of 10.

  • Oh and @numbersgirl08 I don't know how legit that study was. It was just a quick research study they talked about on the Today show.

I'd say at least 7/10. More ladies are going to throw themselves at an NFL player vs my IT manager husband. Put enough chocolate in front of me when im dieting and I'm going to help myself at some point. Even if it is a Baby Ruth and not a Snickers. However, I'm sure there are plenty of players who are wonderful and faithful husbands.
Love your analogy! I am definitely using this one tonight!

  • @gigglejiggle Sorry it isn't in any way trying to say your husband cheats if he is in the NFL. I didn't know your DH played for NFL or anything. My husband still has many friends in the NFL and he says he could never imagine them cheating.  It was simply a mixed argument after hearing that study about regular husbands fidelity. I dated my husband while he was in NFL Europe and I don't believe he ever cheated and he was miles and miles away from me. It was just a silly argument where we were all saying other ppl would agree with one of us more.

  • My DH thinks only 10% of men cheat and 70% of women. Anyone know the female %?
  • On the study they were talking about on TV they said 32% of women cheat.

  • All of these numbers seem very high but then at the same time I guess most of my friends or relatives wouldn't advertise if they did cheat or if they were cheated on. At least they haven't told me that while they are still with that person.

  • I might sound naive, but I seriously doubt 55% of men cheat. I've known way more women who cheat. Way more.
