Update on DD-good news and not so good news

So the good great news is that DD is currently in remission. You can definitely tell. She seriously is back to her funny, giggly self. We have been doing TONS of crafts and games. I taught her out to play memory and she LOVES the foam stickers that you peel. She also is able to use perler beads, which is shocking to me. (DH has stated that he is amazed that she has the focus for it being not even 3 yet. He said he doesn't have the patience for it)

The frustrating news is that on Day 8, she got a test done to see how the chemo was working. Her leukemia numbers were at 8%, which is higher than the doctor feels confident treating on her regular chemo plan. That number indicates that if she stays with her current chemo, there is roughly a 20% chance of going out of remission. Because of this they upgraded her to high risk. The doctor explained that it means she will have more intense chemo. However, with the intense chemo, the prognosis is the same--so 85%/90% chance that she will keep remission.

In simple terms it means that she IS in remission but needs more intense chemo (including some more hospital stays) to keep her in remission.
