One & Done: Only child

so hey I'll finally intro

I lurked and then jumped into posting because I always feel AWish starting a thread. So hi!

I'm a SAHM, 32, in the PNW. My son Owen is 15mos. I have a bipolar disorder (Bipolar II) and anxiety so when mental health topics come up I try to be supportive because I don't want anyone to feel alone in these things. My mom has severe mental health issues so I have personal perspective on having a loved one who also struggles.

Husband and I are about 90% syre we're OAD but it's a fresh decision so we're waiting to see if it sticks. I felt relieved when we made the decision initially but I'm going through some what ifs right now.

And now for something lighter, my favorite dessert is tiramisu and my current favorite Sbux drink is an iced whole milk hazelnut machiatto. What's yours? Any questions?

I'm a fan of cafe mochas at starbucks, though I don't go there often. For dessert, carvel ice cream cake. When we eloped, that was our wedding cake ;)

  • Hi! I went to school and lived in Humboldt County, CA, for 9 years, which I consider to be the southern tip of the PNW. :) I loved living there and miss it very much. I've been to Portland Seattle and several places in between.

  • Welcome! I love anything chocolate! My go to sbux drink is a salted Carmel mocha :)

  • I've spent most of my life in the Pacific Northwest but am now in North Dakota. It's been an adjustment...

  • @kristennd I'm a transplant from CT and I thought there'd be more of an adjustment when I moved but there wasn't, really. ND would be a big change geographically and accent/culture/etc, I imagine!
  • The culture change wasn't a big deal because this is a mellower place. The hard thing was giving up ethnic restaurants. Every kind. And Trader Joe's. I'm not even in one of the cities or in a college town. Super cheap mortgage though! And good schools. That would have been an issue where we were. Great food. Poor schools.

  • Schools > food, definitely!
