Hi. Im looking to get a new bookshelf for my soon to be 3 year old DD. I prefer something that is less than $100 but still holds a lot of books and is safe for children. Thank you.
It's cute and functional. My 4 year old DD is really hard on stuff and this has survived. I like how the middle shelf is separated - makes stacking books easier. She also uses it as a dollhouse sometimes.
We have 2 of these in the nursery. They're sturdy and hold quite a bit of weight. One has storage cubes in it and functions as his toy box. (Like this, but home made). The other has tons of books.

Does it hold alot of books?
Each cube is 15" wide, so we get 20-25 books in a cube. They're in a single row in his room, but he has more books double stacked in our larger Expedit shelf downstairs and I'd guess we have 30-40 in each of the cubes downstairs.
We have this book shelve from Ikea. It was $25 and it fits a lot of books. It comes with brackets so you can screw it into the wall. We got it for DS1 around age 3. I plan on getting the same one for DS2 as soon as I can move the changing table out of his room.
We have two of these- one for toys and one for books. I actually prefer this to a bookshelf. He does have a small bookshelf in his bedroom with books, but this organizer is in our family room and holds so many more books. He helps himself and puts them back. I also love that I can take one bucket of books and bring it into another room for him to look through.
