Stump fell off. Little dried blood normal?

LO's stump fell off yesterday. Noticed today there is a little dried blood in her belly button. We go to the peds tomorrow but is this a massive or alarming issue?

    Her stump fell off a couple of days ago and she has had little blood stains on her onesies, after seeing this it seems like it's pretty normal.

    My LO's fell off about a week and a half ago and still has some dried blood. It was gooey and smelly right when it fell off- completely normal out ped said. Apparently gets worse before it gets better-- now the smell and goo is gone, just crusty blood/ickyness remains.

    We had this-her stump fell off Thursday evening, and we had a pedi appt Friday morning. Pedi said dried blood is normal. She looked at it, and it wasn't quite totally dried out inside, so she put some meds in there to help the goopiness that was still in there go away.


    dx PCOS 2007

    My LO still has hers and she's 16 days old. My kids apparently like to hang onto theirs for a while as my first kept his in for about 2 weeks. Hers is goopy and looks like it's gonna come off pretty soon.

    My first 2 each kept theirs for nearly a month! Eww. And even then, pedi had to apply silver nitrate to get it to dry up and fall off. This one is looking like it may fall off sooner so I'm crossing fingers! It's kind of a pain to work around!

    I was worried to when my LOs fell off about 5days after being born and the blood worried me to but my pedi said it's completely normal and cleaned the dried blood with a quetip and hydrogen peroxide. She said to just so that again if I notice the dried blood and she really got in there too!

    They told us not to put anything on it this time, they recommended alcohol wipes with our first. It didn't seem to change how fast/slow it healed. After my post earlier, I changed her diaper and it had fallen off!
