  N doesn't point yet, but she is also a month younger than the babies that are starting

  @cl8badb what I read said to look for it around 12 months and talk to your pedi if they aren't pointing by 15 months. I had no idea this was a milestone either until K started doing it and I googled if she was old enough to understand what objects were when pointing to them.

  He points- not always sure what he is trying to point out, but he points.

  Yes. She points and can recognize and find my nose, her tummy, and ears.

  She doesn't point at objects across the room or anything, but she does target items in books.  She's very into the touch & feel books.  I find this interesting because my son barely glanced at a book until he was 2, ;-)

  @cl8badb, I feel like K is the same way. She's nowhere near crawling or even rolling lol... ugh... but, she seems pretty smart. And yes, I think they mean literal finger pointing. I read a couple of neat articles about it, I will post the links.   No pointing here here. I don't think that ds1 pointed until he was much older. Now at 3 he is extremely intelligent (I think much more advanced than other kids his age) so I'm not worried.
