Ravenclaw and all other Potter fans

I watched a movie on Amazon Prime Instant last night called "Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story" which was an "unofficial biography. It was pretty cool, and it got me feeling all Potter-y and feeling like maybe I should reread them (agaaaain?). Has anyone seen it? Did you like it?

  • I think I did see it. It was kinda corny, but fun at the same time

  • Agreed, it was slightly cheesy. But I enjoyed it and I liked that it made me feel warm and fuzzy and nostalgic.

I joined Pottermore forevvver ago, when it first came out. I should totally try it again! That'd be a good thing to do when I'm bored and nursing.

  • Thank you for reminding me about Pottermore. I may have seen this movie. I can't wait til DS is old enough to understand and we can go to the theme park! I'm thinking I'll have to reread again to bide my time...

  • I need to reread the books too! I love HP and I have yet to find another book/series that compares to its greatness. I'll have to read them again when I have the time.
  • I'll have to check out this movie. Thanks. I can't wait to read Harry Potter to LO. I'll probably read them to him this summer while nursing. I'll start him early ;)

Ahhh I totally can't wait for all the books I want to read aloud! My mom read to us ALL the time, even when we were teens. Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, the classics... it was awesome.

We also listened to the HP books on CD a lot. Jim Dale did a fantastic job narrating.

I used these when I taught special education reading. The kids loved it. I used it as reward time and it was practice for them to try to picture what the reader was saying. It worked great!

I agree about reading aloud. I also have started a list of books, DH called dibs on Tolkein though.
  • I haven't seen this yet, but I'll definitely have to look it up. I did watch an interview one time where Daniel Radcliffe interviewed J.K Rowling that was really interesting.

I completely agree with PP. I've read many, many books but HP is my favorite. I too think I've start reading them aloud to A this summer. I can't wait to share books with her as she gets older.
  • I haven't seen that movie, but I re-read the series once a year. My most recent read-through started when DD was born, I took the first one to the hospital with me. I need to watch the movies again.
