How to choose the right carseat and stroller for infants

I will be a new mom in September 2014 and am feeling a bit overwhelmed in determining the best carseats and strollers (at afforadable pricing).  I referenced the recommended carseats on thebump.com and found the Via Infant Car Seat 1470 that I really like.  The specifications indicated this carseat is compatible with the Wisp Stroller (The First Years). 

 

I searched the stroller for better pricing and found the Wisp Travel System, but the carseat that comes with the system is different than the Via carseat.  Does anyone know if the Wisp carseat is comparable in safety features to the Via?

    You may want to look at the Nurseries and Baby Gear forum. Practically all they talk about are strollers and car seats.

    There's a great facebook group called Car Seats for the Littles.  It's staffed by certified car seat techs and they're great at helping people pick the right seat for their car and budget.  Here's there list of their recommended seats:

    We went to Babies R Us to check out what strollers we liked. That's how we wound up picking the the Britax B-Agile system. We liked how light it was and how easy it was to fold up.
