No shame in my game

Just got home from grocery shopping. My mom treated us to a big shop before LO arrives. She's handicapped so she uses the cart to shop but mostly walks with a cane the rest of the time. She saw me struggling to walk about halfway through while pushing DD and a cart full of groceries as DH ran around grabbing things we needed so she offered me her cart for a while. More like insisted. I have no shame. I hopped right on and kept on shopping. My those things are fun! I kept getting looks so my mom would comment about how in due in 2 weeks so they'd keep their eyes to themselves. I didn't care. I have no shame in my game. After a few aisles my back was recovered enough to switch back. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

  • My Karen uses the carts because she has a break in her leg that won't heal. DS whenever we go into a store he knows where they are and runs for them.

I'd use one but DH would ridicule me..

DH was surprisingly supportive about it. Lol

    Trade?
Lol! He has a very "who give a flying F" mentality about everything (south side Chicago guy). Most of the time it can get annoying because I'm usually a person who does care but I'm so over being pregnant (esp with a toddler to deal with) that I really didn't give a flying F what people were thinking. I was in pain and needed reprieve. When I asked him if he was embarrassed by me on our ride home he was all "you're due in 2 weeks, why would I be?" I told him about the looks I was getting and he said "who give a F?" Lol. I'm embracing his attitude lately.

    Edited: mobile spelling issues

  • Awesome mom is awesome. (.______.) MH would laugh at me so much for using one of those, because he thinks a 20 year old should be able to walk through a grocery store without getting winded, despite being the size of a houseboat at only 34 weeks...

I do this when I'm not pregnant. The shoprite by me you can order online and pick it up( extra $12) or have it delivered to your house (extra $20.) So worth it.
It's life changing! I will never do a big grocery trip any other way!
  • That's awesome. I worked from home Thursday and Friday, so I basically didn't get off the couch for 2 days. I was feeling much less pain.

Then I went grocery shopping yesterday. Ouch!

    Embrace it!

About 2 weeks ago I started paying an extra $5 for Harris Teeter express lane. I shop online and push a buzzer when I get to the store someone delivers my groceries to my car. Ultimate laziness, but I don't have the energy or patience to grocery shop, especially with a toddler in tow.

NO grocery stores near me do this. I'm so jealous, I would totally pay extra for that!

  • Your mom is freaking awesome! DH & I always joke that I need a scooter...but I'm always mostly serious, hoping he'll get me one while were shopping. Lol.

Totally could've used it yesterday after doing our hospital tour, and wandering around Home Depot and Target. I was wiped!

  • Lurker from A14.  No shame in my game either, used a scooter cart at Walmart while out with my MIL and SIL, or my PSD would've had me zombie-dragging a basically dead left leg behind me while I hobbled around the store, lol.  Anyone wants to complain that I'm using a cart, I'll run their ass over with it!

Plus, my 4-year-old niece got a serious kick out of me chasing her around with it, lol.
