Hope he/she doesn't get my short fuse or procrastination.
From DH-kindness, athletics, good looks, and major height
From me- outgoing personality, friendliness, and need for routine.
'I loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more'
I really hope that our baby gets my husband's athleticism, dark curly hair and his easy going personality.
And from me, I hope it gets my big green eyes and my love for reading/books.
My husband is my rock. I tend to be pretty high strung so I really hope our kid takes after him.
Let me give you a few examples of how miserable of a child I was-
1) when I was little, I used to have bad sock days. So if the seam on my sock didn't feel just right on my foot, I'd melt down.
2) once when I was about 6, my big sister was baby sitting us and I swallowed ONE PEA without chewing it and I spent the rest of the night dramatically laying on our couch sure that I was "choking". I wasn't.
3) I was playing barbies with my sister once and I was playing Ariel. I made her play Eric because she was older and her voice was deeper. She got tired of my shit and rebelled against me. She (as Prince Eric) said "I don't want to marry Ariel, I want to marry Barbie because she has bigger boobs!" I freaked out and she got grounded for provoking me.
Yeah, I really really hope that my kid not like I was.
If my kids can avoid my horrible eyesight, that would be fantastic. They'd probably also appreciate inheriting DH's ability to tan by standing near a window for too long instead of my ability to burn after standing outside for more than 5 min at a time

OMG I had the exact same sock issue! I forgot all about that. It was awful.
Sock thing for me, too!
But I've got a diagnosis now, so my husband cant give me any crap over it!
(Sensory processing disorder)
Also: forgot the eyesight one! I'm practically blind!
My husband is very tall and I am pretty short, so I hope if we have a girl, she ends up in the middle. Tall will be good for a boy, but all of my tall girlfriends hate being super tall. He has blue eyes, so I hope our baby gets his eye color, but mine are bigger, so I hope baby gets my eye shape. He has better legs, but I have a better tummy, so those from each of us. I have fine hair, so I probably hope baby gets his hair. We have both done fairly well academically and career wise, so I hope our baby does too. I am talkative and he is usually quiet, so it might be better for baby to follow me on that one since he is Army; an outgoing kid will probably have an easier time moving around and making new friends.
From H: his eyes, his love of learning, but not his let's call it 'academic motivation' (h could do the work but screwed around all through high school barely passing), his passion for things that interest him, height from his family, his calm nature
From me: my academic motivation (I loved school) my hair colour, my love of reading and books, my practicality
From neither of us: our stubbornness, out eyesight, my worry
I barely skated through high school, and then I went on to marry a high school teacher!
From my husband: height, dark hair, beautiful olive skin and never had zits in his life, general good looks, athletic ability, math/science ability, hilarious sense of humor, kindness to/affinity for animals, work ethic.
From me: eye color, creativity, musical talent, general easy-going nature, excellent eye sight.
I do NOT want baby to get my procrastination or general ability to plug my ears, shut my eyes and say "la-la-la" to all the tough things in life I don't want to face. I'd love baby to get my husband's very strong sense of right and wrong, but maybe less stubbornness!
Which traits (physical, mental, medical, social, etc) do you hope your baby gets from DH/SO? his sense of humor, how laid back he is, out going, and kind. Looks wise DD looks dead on him so I'm hoping to claim this one.
And from you? I hope this one looks like me as DD looks dead on DH. I hope they are creative, smart, intuitive and sensitive.
Are there any traits you hope Baby(ies) doesn't get? I have a hot temper and DH is stubborn. I hope baby doesn't get that from us.
From MH: laid back personality, huge heart, curly ears, happy go lucky and optimistic outlook on life
From me: curly hair, determination, work ethic
I hope our child doesn't inherit my high-strung personality or either of our tempers.
I hope our child does inherit both of our willingness to help others, going above and beyond to help others who are less fortunate.
Which traits (physical, mental, medical, social, etc) do you hope your baby gets from DH/SO? his legs, height, his patience & total sweetness, his family's thick, un-frizzy hair
And from you? my nose, my family's build (other than short legs), my memory, the red hair that runs in my family
Are there any traits you hope Baby doesn't get? the heart disease, high blood pressure that plagues both sides of the fam, the video game propensity on his side of the family, my short legs, my stubbornness, his timing (always late)
I hope my daughter and I share the same love of animals. I adore them and, to me, the extra expense and effort of having them in the home is worth it. Although my husband loves our pets and treats them well, he would never have gotten them on his own. I would be happy to take in more! My heart bursts whenever we pass a dog & cat adoption event.
I also hope she gets my super boring heath history! (No allergies, strong immune system, great eyesight, very resilient after injury...)
My husband is really good with his hands and is a real do-it-yourselfer. He does most of the car maintenance, home repairs, cooking and fixing any computer problem. I definitely hope our daughter gets that natural curiousity and confidence from him. I get so happy thinking of him one day teaching her how to change the oil in the car, or how to add an electrical outlet to a wall.
On a superficial level, I hope our girl gets his beautiful, clear skin with tiny pores, his long eyelashes, my green eyes. Whatever the combo, I cannot wait to see how our two faces merge! It's going to be such a trip to see my DH's face on a little girl. And to pick out generations from both sides ("she has my grandma's hairline & your mom's smile & my dad's chin & your sister's nose...")
Which traits (physical, mental, medical, social, etc) do you hope your baby gets from DH/SO?
DH - His gorgeous hazel/green eyes, his patience, his kindness and selflessness, his work ethic, his heart, his dedication to family, the way he treats women (if its a boy), his drive and lack of laziness, his love for vegetables and trying new and healthy foods
Me - my fast reading and smarts in general, my artisticness, my passion, my love for music and art, the ability to sing well enough that its enjoyable, love for country music , my family's height lol
Which traits (physical, mental, medical, social, etc) do you hope your baby gets from DH/SO? his awesome skin (his entire family has awesome fair acne-free skin that tans beautifully), smarts, work-ethic, reliability, love of sports, his good looks, his eyesight, his reliability, his trustworthiness
And from you? Intellect, love of reading/learning, love of traveling, my steady determination, love of nature, my self-knowledge with regards to my health, my ability to deal all different types of people, my ability to "roll with the punches", my good looks, my hair, my curiosity and love of trying new things.
My husband and I are both short, blond, with blue/green eyes... So our baby will be 100% blond with blue/green eyes... Our are families are tall and we're hoping that the "height" gene skipped us so it can go to or kids!!
Are there any traits you hope Baby doesn't get? DH has a propensity to being moody and was a mopy somewhat angry child (when DH and I first started dating MIL said to me "good luck you got the tough one"). I was an emotional basketcase from age 8 to age 25... So that'll be an adventure... My restlessness, my husband's resistance to trying anything new... I hope our kid isn't as quiet as we were growing up, but can learn to find a introvert-extrovert balance sooner than DH and I did (I still get "extrovert hangovers" after a big event)

From me, I hope he gets curiosity, a love of books/reading and a love of nature.
January PAL siggie challenge; Good advice:
'I loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more'
I freaked out and she got grounded for provoking me.
Sock thing for me, too!

Also his eyes and height.
If our children avoid the procrastination and bachelor-like house keeping skills it will be a miracle
I think it would be great if this one could get my dimples and love of traveling.
and avoid my social awkwardness
I also really hope my kids grow up to love sci-fi and fantasy.

From me: eyes, intelligence, love of learning, curiosity about the world and work ethic.
I hope s/he doesn't inherit my OCD, or how socially awkward I was as a kid. Hope it gets my teeth, not his
I also hope she gets my super boring heath history! (No allergies, strong immune system, great eyesight, very resilient after injury...)
