Will you still watch Woody Allen movies?

in light of the recent scandal?

i LOVE woody allen movies, i  mean really, really love them.   I always thought he was a bit creepo for going off with his sorta step-daughter (duh), but now this stuff with his other daughter is coming out, and i don't know what to think.  I am never one to doubt a child, BUT i DO think mia farrow is and was always looney tunes.  Anyway at first i said "i wont watch another movie!"  but then last night i watched Blue Jasmine and felt funny about it lol.  but It was really good!

i am so mad i am having an existential crisis over a goddamned director.   thoughts?

  • firstly, i can't believe none of you liked his stuff prior to this.  what the hell are you watching!

secondly, i forgot to add another random thing: Mia Farrow is a close friend AND SUPPORTER of roman polanski, to this day.  so please explain this to me!

  • Not a Woody Allen fan and definitely won't be watching his movies after this. I've always thought he was a bit creepy. Roman Polanski is just as big of a scumbag yet people seem to give him a pass too.....maybe because of the Sharon Tate murder. Mia Farrow is a nut job who probably didn't help the situation. Sadly, I think Hollywood has a lot of shady things going on. I'm sure sexual assault/abuse happens more than we know.

This reminds me that I watched a documentary on the Manson family the other day, and how I basically totally forgot that Polanski was married to Sharon Tate. Some fucked up stuff has gone on in that man's life.

I would say I am a huge fan and I still love his movies but i would have to watch something now to see if this ruins his brilliance as a director. That being said, it is shocking stuff and considering his neuroses, totally believable.

Eta: hit reply too soon AND bc words are hard apparently
