Remember way back someone posted about what would your first post birth meal be? Since we have a lot of outside babies I am interested in what everyone's first meals were! I am also looking for inspiration
Tim Hortons blueberry muffin. I'm still not up for a full meal and just graze constantly. I did have a steak and half a glass of sparkling wine for dinner last night though
Broth and jello, followed by toast so I.could take percocet. ;-)
My first actual meal was brown sugar oatmeal and pears. I wanted to ease back into food after more than a day without solid food. I had my sushi a couple days later. ;-)

Thanks to the ice storm... Mine was gross hospital food:-(. I didn't get anything decent until after we left 4 days later :-(. It was zaxbys chicken fingers/fries/fried mushrooms. And it was delicious!
Ugh mine was soooooo delicious. I just had baked chicken breast, steamed broccoli and brown rice about 2 hours after my daughter was born. I ate it so damn fast and it was the best meal I've ever eaten.
DS3 was born at 5:38pm and they brought me hospital dinner at 6:30. It was disgusting fish sticks and limp green beans, but I was so starving I scarfed it all up.
I had beef tips and noodles. SO GOOD. But it was weird because the nurse fed it to me, since I was breastfeeding LO and my fiance was downstairs getting his own food when mine got there. Still it was the best thing I've ever tasted!
I delivered at home and my mom made a smorgasbord of stuff, raviolis, pineapple, sweet potato fries, and salad. I felt like I had just ran a marathon so the raviolis were way too heavy and made me sick. The salad and pineapple were great though, and I did eat a few sweet potato fries as well. I was really not in the mood to eat I was so exhausted. Also, coconut water was heavenly for me.
Mine was a crappy cheese sandwich from the hospital lounge since I was so damn hungry. I couldn't wait for anything special
I felt the same way! It was like "give me food and I don't care what it is or where it's from!" I was starving!! I had an open face hot turkey and gravy sandwich with mash potatoes. Of course it wasn't the best, but it hit the spot!
I'm a sinner saved by grace and a child of the Attitude Era (Oh you didn't know?!?)
I delivered at midnight so nothing was really open. My nurse gave me what she called a "mom box" that I'm guessing they have on hand for those that deliver at night. It had a turkey sandwich, sun chips, yogurt and apple slices in it. I scarfed down the sandwich because I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours and I was starving. I then proceeded to puke half of it back up, combination of eating too fast and drinking too much water too fast I ate the sun chips and tossed the rest.
I delivered at 11:29pm so by the time we got settled in postpartum it was 3am. I wanted to send DH downstairs to the 24 hr Mcdonalds but we were both so exhausted I just went to bed hungry. The next morning I had a Clif bar and hospital breakfast which tasted delicious I was so hungry!! Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, an orange muffin and cranberry juice.
I delivered around 8am and ate lunch around 11 or 12. The cafeteria platter came with a whole bunch of food. I think I ate some soup and apple crisp. I couldn't stomach much more because I was to excited.
The hospital cafeteria was closed when L was born so my first meal was actually a frozen lean cuisine that the nurse heated up for me. I was so freaking hungry at that point that it was delicious!
My first GOOD meal after DS was born was ahi poke and a big glass of red wine.

But my first solid food was a cold turkey sandwich.
My first GOOD meal after DS was born was ahi poke and a big glass of red wine.
But I did make my husband get me a rainbow roll while I was still in the hospital.
