Reccomend your natural baby soap

J&J always irritated my toddlers skin so I'd like to get something gentler and with less chemicals for DD. Any recommendations?

We use Earth Mama Angel Baby soap and cream as a more natural option. Smells like oranges and has not irritated LOs skin yet. Gaia Skin Naturals is a good brand too!

My mother recommends Cetaphil. For now, I'm not using much soap at all, but once he gets dirtier, I'll probably buy some.

I thought aveeno is made by the same company as j&j? Therefore, people who avoid j&j also avoid aveeno. I could be wrong though.

jessicabcairns: Formaldehyde is natural, your body produces it as a by-product of metabolism, and it can be found in food in small amounts. I wouldn't stress about a little bit of it in soap. Yes, it's a harmful preservative in large concentrations, but so is salt. And sugar, vinegar, etc.

@MarBee1214 did you only look in baby section? Try the face wash section. I've used Cetaphil before as my face soap and it's super gentle.

We use Arbonne baby products. All natural, no parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oil and smells fantastic.

For a less expensive natural product, my friend uses the Live Clean line of baby products

@JaneW2 - I assume it's more than a little bit in the J&J products as there is a lawsuit which was started over it. Aveeno wasn't named in the lawsuit, it's just J&J brand baby shampoo and soap.

That being said, I would use Aveeno anyways, as it's what I use myself.

My friend is a pharmacist (and has 2 LO's). From what she's heard, J&J did used to have formaldehyde in it, but they recently removed it all together due to complaints. Aveeno is made by the same company, but it has never contained formaldehyde.

We are an Aveeno family here (DD, and myself)!
