When does it stop?

I know we've talked about hair loss before, but mine has been steadily coming out for a good month now. And I'm not talking a little here and there, I'm talking clumps. I knew I would loose some hair after birth, but I'm starting to get scared. My hair is getting really thin, and I'm afraid I'm going to be bald soon. My hair ties used to wrap 3-4 times around a ponytail, now it's about 6 times.

How long does this continue for? Is there anything I can do? I know this sounds stupid, but I have long hair (to my mid-lower back) and I wonder if cutting it would help?

Nothing you can do besides let it run it's course. As pp said, it can last a couple months. Don't worry it does grow back... slowly.

It's awful!!! But it must be growing back at the same time because I noticed a bunch of baby hairs growing around my hairline.

And here I am getting excited about my hair falling out because it's so damn thick! I've always had thick hair but at the end of my pregnancy I could barely get a hair tie around twice.

Cutting your hair may not help with the loss but would probably help it look thicker.
I noticed more loss in the front where I part it, I had to switch my part to avoid a bald spot!

Ugh, I really hope this stops soon! I've always had really thin hair to start with, so now it's getting really noticeable.

Maybe take some prenatal vitamins? I don't know if it would help but it's worth a shot.

I have really long, thick hair and I have noticed mine has become a LOT more thinned out over the last couple weeks. It falls out quite a bit in the shower and when I blow dry it.

You really notice how much you actually have lost once it starts growing back in! All the uneven hair

( But just like everyone said, this too shall pass and it will grow once again.

Mine is SOO bad. We pulled up our drain catch thing in our shower because the water was starting to drain a lot slower and it pulled out a thing of hair the size of a small cat! Gag! I'm seriously worried. Stop hair!

Last time mine lasted a couple months. I ended up with a receding hairline. It was very noticeable, especially has all the small spiky hairs grew back in. My hair was only chin length last time and now it's almost half way down my back. The hair is everywhere.

This is what I'm worried about! That's why I'm starting to think if I cut it much shorter, it won't be as noticeable?
