What's your best/worst Valentines Day story?

A couple years ago, I was training for a marathon and had a training run on Valentine's Day so we didn't really plan a whole lot. My husband surprised me after my run with my favorite type of pizza and bought Lady and the Tramp. It was just so stinkin' cute!

I can't think of a bad valentines day

But today was the best so far, my husband came in with a bouquet of roses, heart full of chocolates, and my heart rate monitor I've been wanting. We have the weekend together and I'm really excited

The first Valentine's Day that DH and I were married was probably my favorite. We had just gotten married a month before so we hadn't really done any birthday or Christmas gifts that year because we were saving for the wedding. Well he was so excited that he got me a nice coach wallet that I had wanted. He couldn't even wait until the morning. At like 3am he woke me up so excited and had me open it. I think him just being so happy to give me a gift that I had really wanted was the best part. I still use that wallet today.

Best was 2010 when our best friends came to PA to spend the weekend with us when DH was going to school there.

Worst was when I had to take DH to the hospital in the MOTN due to severe tooth pain that resulted in extraction.

One year, a boyfriend and I broke up right around Valentine's Day. and of course I was really bummed about it. My dad, who usually left the gift-giving up to my mom, bought me a box of chocolates and a card that said he'll always be my Valentine. It was so sweet - I really wish I had saved it.

Every year since my mom passed away my hubby has continued her tradition of getting me cordial strawberries from a little place in my home town. Makes every valentines day the best!

Valentine's day has almost always been a good day for me. I loved it growing up because my father always gave us heart shaped boxes of chocolate. Even when I was alone on Valentine's day it's always been a great day to treat myself and my kids.

My favourite Valentine's day would be the days I celebrated alone with my boys after my ex left. Amazing memories which I hope to add to with A.

I guess for me celebrating Valentine's day has been more about kids than romance. I also love treating nyself to something without guilt.

My best was Valentine's day 2012. DH bought me a case of my favorite wine and placed the bottles around the house with love notes on them

DH is so not romantic so it was awesome for him. The wine would've been enough but the love notes were a bonus

Um, this was probably the worst. I stayed home with the kids and cleaned the house all day, DH worked late. Then he walks in the door with flowers and my favorite cake. I have gestational diabetes.

He made a lovely dinner but left all the dishes for me to wash. We had bought sparkling cider and it never got opened. The plan had been to watch a movie on the blow up bed in front of the fireplace, but he started playing madden "for a few minutes". Then I went to bed.

He hasn't redeemed himself yet, since he left for work at 5:30am and I didn't see him before he left.

The best was getting engaged on vday 2009. Cliche, I know. But we had a blast that night.
