I know I'm a NICU grad, but I'll keep running this for the NICU moms until we don't have any more!

1. How old is baby? If premature, tell us adjusted age/gestation as well

2. How long is your expected nicu stay?

3. How is baby doing?

4. How are you feeling, emotionally?

Re: NICU check-in

  • @ivedonethisb4 I did! He went home on Thursday, on his one-month birthday :) I titled the thread "holy crap there's a baby in my car" or something like it.
We've got a pre-op appointment in a couple weeks and I think we'll set a date for surgery then.

  • Yeah!!! Congrats ladys on having your babys home!!! Mine just got home today!!!! Dec 24-feb 9!! Thank god!!
  • Emily came home three days ago - she's an angel during the day but becoming a holy terror at night for settling! She got to meet her big (furry) brother yesterday too....he's actually doing much better than we thought he would as sat by our feet while she screamed the house down at midnight - we thought he'd hide under the bed!
  • Avalyn is 5 days old, we are expected to leave Monday. she is doing great since the surgery and how she was when we first came in. I am exhausted and sore, I have definitely cried more this week than I did my entire pregnancy and I would give anything to be home by now!
  • Zachary is 11 days old and 3 days post-op from having his mass removed.

We're hoping to only be here 3-4 more weeks for surgical recovery. He still has drains in.

Zachary is doing amazing. The team calls him their rock star. He hasn't needed pain meds at all since surgery and is breast feeding like a Cham despite not being able to get out of bed.

I am doing okay. The 24 hours before surgery were the worst, I just held him and cried all day. I still cry every night when I have to leave him, but I'm better for him all day when I sleep in a bed and not the chair at his bedside.

Congrats to all if you who are home. Hopefully we'll join you soon.
  • Hey ladies, I know I'm a NICU grad, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am thinking about you and praying for the best for all of your little ones.
