NBR: Make Up Question

I need some new make up but I would like to try some inexpensive finds first. I am looking specifically for a foundation but would like any tips you may have. Any great drugstore finds you love? Any brands that while not cheap, are amazing and last forever? @makeupgeek, I am lookin at you :)

  • I like the new BB & CC creams. Rimmel has a wonderful BB cream that I like a lot right now. I'm also loving Arbonne & Smashbox CC creams I love. I highly rec them both.

  • If you need light coverage, I love the physicians formula tinted moisturizer. It's less than $10 I think, I get it at Target.

For drugstore brands I like Neutrogena's foundation. Also I just recently started using a Tarte BB tinted moisturizer. It's my first time using that brand and I really like it.

ETA: Also I don't know if you use a primer but I love Loreal's face primer. It's about $12 and it works just as well as the expensive ones.

  • I've used Sheer Cover for years and I love it.

The downside is you can't get it everywhere. I think Ulta stocks it, but otherwise you have to order online.

  • Thanks guys! I will look into the tinted moisturizers and bare minerals. I like something that provides coverage but isn't too heavy. Basically, two things that cancel each other out lol.

    I'm a bare minerals gal.

    Same here.

Third one on this. Love the stuff
  • I have been using Almay for a long time. I don't use their foundation but I use a little concealer and then powder. Not sure what skin type you have, but they even have a line of makeup for blemish control.

I also like their mascara, eye shadow, and eye makeup remover pads.

  • A tack-on question for those of you using Bare Minerals: what do you do to keep from looking like a ghost in photos? I tried it for a while and loved the way it looked in natural light, but whenever anyone took a picture of me, it looked like I'd smooshed my face in flour. I only used a little bit!

The BB(& CC) creams are wonderful...super lightweight moisturizers and very natural.

  • I'm a Estée Lauder gal. Expensive but amazing, even on my sensitive skin.
