How awful and horrible I find myself being extra careful in parking lots now making sure I don't walk behind cars. You just can't assume people will see you or be careful. But this is just so so sad I hope the baby makes it! At least two lives were not lost.
what a tragedy..... I recently saw a news story about a woman in Victoria BC, 5 months pregnant who suffered a fatal brain bleed but was being kept on life support until her baby boy could be safely delivered. Just makes me thankful for my life. I bawled my eyes out and had to stop watching. These stories are just so sad.

I think there was a similar story recently in Texas.

I think they actually delivered that baby@ like 27/28 weeks and it was doing good.
I think there was a post about this on parenting I think.
There were some pretty big differences between the Texas an BC cases.
In Texas the woman had an unknown down time (I.e. Mom and baby were without oxygen for who knows how long). Mom was brain dead from the beginning. Mom had an advanced care directive that stated clearly she wouldn't want to be on life support, and her whole family knew and supported that decision.
In BC, mom was never without oxygen and became brain dead during her admission. She did not have an advanced care directive, but the whole family agreed that she would be willing to be kept on life support. I think she was also further along in her pregnancy.

So sad! Too many people getting killed recklessly. A snow plow driver was just killed in my neighborhood this morning because he was run over my another snow plow!
Re: Pregnant mom killed by snowplow
