He is doing great sounds like a lil baby goat when he gets angry (diaper change and cold wipe = meltdown) Starting smiling/grinning so that's heartmelting.
2- tell us how you're doing.
Tired and sore, but it's getting better
3- what are you struggling with?
I'm still awfully sore, and over do it on occasion so I'm trying my best to take it easy so I can heal properly and get back to 100%
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? Watching all the kids interact and how much they love each other
5- cutest moment of the week?
I caught him smiling lil blurry cuz I didn't have phone ready but so cute.
Woohoo My 1st new mom check in!!! 1- tell us how LO is doing. She's doing great! My milk hasn't come in yet so we're supplementing with formula. She's a hungry little girl.
2- tell us how you're doing. I'm still in shock that she's here...it still doesn't feel real. Im not getting much sleep but somehow I'm "functioning". We're being discharged from the hospital today so I'm hoping the transition goes well.
3- what are you struggling with? Waiting for my milk to come in has been challenging. Feedings are LONG...breast followed by formula. Also, I'm trying to decide if I'm going to give her a pacifier since she's using my nipples as one
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? Everything has been awesome so far! She's everything I could've prayed for. Also, I feel like she already looks so different then the day she was born...it's amazing to see.
5- cutest moment of the week? She took her newborn hospital pictures yesterday. Here are some of the proofs.
1- tell us how LO is doing. - she is doing well. We had a bad day yesterday with her being extremely fussy, spitting up, and fighting her sleep. Tried gripe water, gas drops, different positions, etc. she finally calmed down during the night and I was able to get in a 2.5 hour nap between feedings...which felt AMAZing. I'm hoping she starts trending toward 3 hour breaks between feeds during the night. FX!
2- tell us how you're doing. - I'm good. Just tired, but who isn't? Only thing I'm dealing with is a stubborn ingrown hair at the corner of my incision. It's quite big and gross and need DH to get it out.
3- what are you struggling with? - I'm struggling with the fear of breastfeeding in public keeping me in my house 24/7. I think it also has to do with not wanting to expose her to the outside world (because germs) and the general nervousness of traveling, stroller, and diaper changes...and of course feeding. Can you tell I'm a FTM? Lol.
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? - it's been fun watching my DH interact with her. He is completely in love with her and it melts my heart.
5- cutest moment of the week? - many involving my DH and LO. But I did catch her in a smile.
1. LO is doing great! We went to see the LC again and he gained 7 ounces since last Friday. Even though I'm a STM at BF I still worry about him gaining weight.
2. I'm doing pretty good physically. I think the bleeding is almost done! My 4 week pp visit is on Monday. Emotionally I'm still having some ups and downs.
3. Maternity leave is going so fast and I'm weepy because I don't want to go back to work in 2 weeks. This is our last child due to medical reasons so I really want to soak in all the time with him I can.
4. LO has been sleeping 4 hours at a time during the night. A few hours of uninterrupted sleep= awesome!
5. Cutest moment of the week was DS1 hanging out with LO on the couch while I made dinner. He is such a great big brother already!
1- tell us how LO is doing. She's doing awesome champion eater, sleeps pretty well, reminds me so much of her big sister that I'm afraid I'm going to jinx it
2- tell us how you're doing. I'm doing good. DH has been spoiling me by keeping the house clean so I've been lazy. Recovery has been really good. Snuck out with the baby yesterday to get my hair done.
3- what are you struggling with? Engorgement, having a hard time keeping on top of it, even 10 days out
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? Breast feeding has been a lot easier this time. Tackled our first NIP and she just seems better at it than my first did initially
5- cutest moment of the week? DD1 likes to pet her baby sister and tell her how much she loves her and she's been awake more, so we get to see her pretty eyes
DD is 4 days old. We just came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon.
1- tell us how LO is doing. She's good. Had some significant weight loss after birth so I'm stressing a little to get that under control but otherwise, she's a really good baby. Sleeps a lot. Very laid back but when she is unhappy, she lets you know it!
2- tell us how you're doing. I'm mostly good. Overall, this c/s recovery has been textbook and my bleeding has been the lightest of the 3. Still dealing with a nasty allergic reaction around the incision which is making my pain level higher than it normally is at this stage so I'm taking more pain meds at this point than I have previously.
3- what are you struggling with? My mind is playing tricks on me. Nighttime is the worst. All my anxiety seems to triple and I will wake up in a near panic attack for something completely ridiculous. Experienced it before and I know its just part of the hormone crash for me but we are keeping an eye on things... I don't want it to turn into PP Anxiety issues.
Also, I am really missing my older 2 kids. They are off with ILs until Tuesday and I know its probably best- allows me to just rest and focus on BF- but I'm definitely ready for them to meet her. They were supposed to come to the hospital but we had snow/ice and DD had strep so we had to cancel that plan :-(
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? I had my tubes tied this time so knowing that this is my last baby, I am THOROUGHLY enjoying all the newborn snuggles. I love how she instantly relaxes when she is on my chest.
5- cutest moment of the week? OMG... the dimples... EPIC DIMPLES ;-)
I'm sorry you are struggling so much. I also had a rough recovery and DH had to step up a lot. I agree it was a blessing for his comfort/ bonding with baby. I also felt like I was not doing anything but the most important thing is you getting better so take care of yourself
1- tell us how LO is doing. Awesome! He is eating/sleeping like a champ and has about 6-8 hours of fully awake time throughout the day. He's learning to lift his head and starting to figure out how to flop onto his side.
2- tell us how you're doing.
Good! I feel almost back at 100% and I'm able to sleep comfortably on my sides again. I am tired from the nonstop pumping, and still a bit sad that K continues to reject my boobs. Speaking of which - they freaking hurt. Not a lot a lot , but enough to notice throughout the day.
3- what are you struggling with? The TMI answer? Pooping. The regular non TMI answer - pumping. It's a malicious cycle - pump, clean, feed, change, pump, clean, feed, change. I know I am supposed to pump every 2 hours to keep supply up, but it's just SO HARD to keep up with that.
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun?
Awesome - Every second I have with him. Seriously. This kid is a ham and makes me laugh like crazy.
Easy - loving him.
Fun - Awake time/tummy time.
5- cutest moment of the week?
Farting while smiling
“Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.” — The Doctor, Season 3, Episode 6
1- tell us how LO is doing. He's doing great! Outgrew newborn clothes now and is only in 0-3! He is just awesome! I credit my 31 cal/oz boob milk for the weight gain!
2- tell us how you're doing. I'm ok. Cleared for all activity last Monday at 6w PP. I'd just like some more SLEEP! But I get to go in my hot tub now and get to have sex so yay!
3- what are you struggling with? Sleep. LO is still stuck on this 3 hour NICU schedule and I can't get him off of it!
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? Surprisingly going out with him has been easy.
5- cutest moment of the week? Yesterday I was making noises at him and my mouth was in an "O" and he was watching me and made an "O" with his mouth. He stopped when I stopped and started again when I did.
1- tell us how LO is doing. So far, she is doing pretty great. She reached her birthweight yesterday, at 11 days old. We're EBF, so I feel like that's a pretty big deal!
2- tell us how you're doing. Overall, doing okay. Occasional weird pinches/pulls from my stitches. Finally able to do more things on my own. Actually made a cake yesterday!
3- what are you struggling with? Our biggest struggle so far has been the overnights. Last night was awesome (she slept 10-4, 4:30-5:30, and 6-10:30). Hopefully we can continue to build on that! (The night before, she wouldn't sleep more than 90 minutes).
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun? I think being able to cuddle with a baby has been the best ever! We've made several trips already, and it's surprisingly easier than we anticipated. Haven't tackled NIP yet-am nervous for that!
5- cutest moment of the week? After a particularly rough night, DH took over so I could sleep a couple hours. I woke up to the cutest sight: (PIP) makes me really appreciate DH for all he does for us!
1-LO is doing great! He was very jaundice and lost a pound his first week. He has gained back 8oz after switching to formula. He is sleeping much better now too.
2-I am doing pretty well. This week I had one bad day (ugly cried all day long) after I had to stop breastfeeding. I felt like I felt when I had PPD with DS1. I'm at peace with it now and a lot happier! I get to sleep more than one hour at a time.
3-I'm struggling with no longer breastfeeding. Physically, it is taking a while for my milk to dry up and I'm sore mentally, I'm sad that it didn't work out for the second time. I hate washing bottles.
4-it's so awesome to see DS1 interact with DS2. I wasn't sure if he would like little brother or not but he definitely does
LO is one week old and doing wonderful. She's always being cuddled and loved on. After two visits to the lactation consultant and hours of YouTube videos, her latch is much much better and my nipples don't scream as much.
2- tell us how you're doing.
I am feeling much happier after a run in with some baby blues. It was a combo of no sleep, a hungry 3 day old, and boobs so engorged I couldn't breathe without pain. I'm so happy to be in a better place now.
3- what are you struggling with?
Sleeping when baby sleeps. She's so cute I just want to watch her all day like a creep. Luckily my husband forces me upstairs to bed.
4- what's been awesome, easy, or fun?
I think the best part is watching her gain the weight she lost back and knowing I did that. I feel like Super Woman
5- cutest moment of the week?
This epic picture I got of my daughter completely mimicking one of the faces I constantly make.
