Update- Prayers for my fur baby!

My cat Buddy is 17. In October we had to put his sister down and it was one of the worst things I've ever had to go through. She was my baby and so is he. I've had him since 6th grade. He has slowly stopped eating over the last two months. He has lost 3 lbs. He is hypertensive and has a heart murmur. We are doing X-rays now to look for a mass. Please pray for my kitty. I can't lose him yet. I'm not ready to say goodbye to another baby. I'll update later.

Update: Buddy has a very enlarged heart. The vet is going to have a kitty cardiologist look at it to try to determine what medication may help him. He is going on blood pressure medicine. She is not sure how to treat his thyroid at this point- we are going to wait for labs to come back. The hope is if we can get him feeling better he will start eating again. I realize this is just a cat getting old...but I'm not ready to lose him just yet so I want to do what we can for the moment. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

So so sorry. Keep us posted please. I so know how you feel. I had to put two dogs and my kitty down a few years ago all within 4 months.

Your Buddy is the same age as my Junior. He was in a similar situation recently, but he's improving now. Hopefully the scans are clear, and it's a simple fix. Big hugs coming your way!

(Sorry no spacing.... on iPad). Just read your update, sorry Buddy's heart is enlarged. Perhaps this was the cause of the murmur too? I have a kitty that has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Basically, his heart muscle is too thick, and keeps enlarging. He almost died a week shy of his 1st birthday. After a lot of money saving him, he now is stable and is on a few medications that are helping. You wouldn't even know anything was wrong to look at him now, and he's no longer in heart failure. I completely understand not wanting to give up on him. My other kitty just had a thyroid injection for Hyperthyroidism, so if that's what Buddy has, then that's an option as well. She had a heart murmur and couldn't handle the meds. If you want to talk you can always pm me... I've spent thousands saving my fur kids, so I completely understand. ((Hugs)).

((Hugs)) hope they can make him feel better and start eating soon. I've been there many times. We do we have to for our fur family and it is so hard to let them go.
