8 week old not drinking a lot

I exclusively pump and my LO was getting 3oz 8times a day
My Pediatrition told me 3 weeks ago to now give him 4oz and feed him every 3 hours.he was doing really well and then he would leave an ounce or half an ounce each feeding and dropped to 7 feedings. Each day would vary on how much he would drink I kept putting 4oz in case he would drink it all and he did sometimes. Today he has only been drinking 2oz at a time and then only 1oz and his feeding schedule is all messed up.

Is it normal for an 8 week old to not eat as much one day verses the next? Should I be worried if he doesn't drink what he usually drinks in a day? I get paranoid that he doesn't get enough since he is bottle fed verses breast. I'm posting this on the breast feeding forum too.

If he seems otherwise normal and healthy I would just feed when and how much he wants. A day every now and then like this I would think no big deal, I would only be worried if it went on a few days and diaper output decreased.

If he is still getting enough wet and dirty diapers and seems happy I wouldn't worry about it. He is only going to eat what he wants.

As long as there are enough wet diapers you have to look at the whole week and not just the day.

Watch the diapers not how many ounces. I figure babies are just like any other human, sometimes you are more hungrier than other times. I know that sometimes I could eat a ton and other times am not hungry at all.
