Sesame Place

Anyone been?  Aiden's kind of over Sesame Street as a show but I think he'd still enjoy it and this summer when Quinn is one he'll probably like the characters and we know there are some things he can go on.  I kind of don't want to go in the dead of summer because crowds suck.  We were thinking of late May or early September but with a lot of water attractions, which do you think is better?  I think I'm leaning toward May because it's that whole "60 degrees in May feels amazing but 60 degrees in September makes people bust out a sweater" mentality.  Also, the last week of May they're open during the week (bonus) but in September it's only weekends so we've still got potential for crowds even for kids in school. If you've gone, how many days were you there?  Did you do anything else like the Crayola Factory?

Re: Sesame Place

  • We went at the end of oct and it was freakishly warm, like 65.  We wore tshirts and pants.  Even without the water rides there was plenty to do.  We only went there for the day.

I've been a season pass member for about 4 yrs. I would definitely do the last week in May over a weekend in September. Kids are in school so I'm surprised it's even open that week. If the weather is nice in September it gets super packed and not all the water rides are open due to low staff. As far as kids being interested, my older dd rarely watched the show but loved the park. There's a ton to do there without the water rides and they are expanding the dry rides next year. There actually won't be much your 1 yr old could do in the water. Also, the Please Touch Museum is awesome. Bucks County Children's museum is also fun but you really can't play there for more than an hour or 2.
Is there enough for my (then) 1 year old to enjoy at all?  Of course realizing they only process so much anyway :)  How much time do I realistically need there?  We were considering doing an afternoon and then a whole second day.  Would that work?  What about the please touch museum - whole day?

  • We had a season pass last summer---We would go in the middle of the week every couple of weeks---it was ALWAYS empty when we went. Reese LOVED it. She still talks about it! They are building a new section for toddlers/etc there as well--I think more dry things. She had fun when she went when she was 1 as well. (We only went that one time though). I would love to go back this summer again, if her doctors okay it :)

This is the new section that is opening in 2014:
