Re: opinion on Group B test

  • Group B test is a swab from your vagina and anus. I'm confused as to what is challenging about it, you just lay down...

  • Mine just sent me to the bathroom with the swab. I did not find it challenging. At all.

  • My dr. did it for me because she also wanted to do an exam. That being said, I cannot imagine doing it myself would be difficult. If you can reach you butt and vag after going to the washroom, there should be no reason why a swab would be much different.

I have never heard of doctors making you do it yourself, but I agree. If you can wipe you can swab.
  • I had mine yesterday. As others have said, I just laid back and the doctor collected the sample. It's a tad uncomfortable, but for me, no acrobatics were involved.
  • Dr. did it with my prior pregnancy with DD, and said she will be doing it and seeing if I am beginning to dilate at 36 weeks.

  • My doctor did mine. Never have done it myself. Was positive first pregnancy, negative the second time. It's just a quick swab, no biggie.

  • I did it myself with my last pregnancy. It was not hard at all. If you can wipe yourself after you use the bathroom, you can do your own GBS swab.
