I went to a meeting yesterday at Lydia's school, it's just a bunch of parents getting together. We all sign in and write down who our kids teachers are and the class with the most parents gets to have a party. They've done popcorn, ice cream sundaes, things like that. A parent suggested a root beer float party and the parents of the winning class thought it was a great idea. They are 2nd graders! That seems too young to be drinking soda. I can't remember when I started drinking it but, man, I doubt I was that young! What do you all think??
Re: When do kids start drinking soda??
That said, for a special occasion (party) I wouldn't be opposed at this age. Unless the special occasion is happening every week... I don't think kids need soda that much, IMO.

Edit. She's never had soda. She tried fizzy water once & spit it out everywhere. She has grabbed my hubby's iced coffee & taken a sip thinking it was water though. Oops.
Uhh what?!
