DD is sick

My DD (3yo) woke up last night coughing at crying at 4am. Luckily I haven't been able to sleep well so I was up and was able to go in and comfort her quickly. She eventually fell back asleep in our bed, but isn't doing any better this morning. She is currently laying on the couch watching tv, which is really unusual for her. I have a doctor's appointment this morning so my husband is going to take her to the pediatrician as soon as he can get there. They have sick call starting at 8. I think that she has croup. She had it once before and the terrible cough sounds the same to me. Hopefully that's what it is and she can get the steroids right away and be back to her normal self quickly. With all that we are going through right now we really don't need her to be sick too. At least my parents are in town so there will still be someone to take me to my doctor's appointment since I'm not allowed to drive yet because of the c section and the drugs that I'm on.

    Poor little miss, that age is tough, she's old enough to know she is miserable but not old enough to realize it's only temporary.  I hope she is feeling better very soon.  And I am very glad you have family to help take care of you also.  You are important also.  Cliched hugs to you.

    Oh yuck. Our 3yr old daughter has had croup 3 times since December. She would say "I have a regular cough and a bad cough!". Hope they can get her on steroids right away. Glad to hear your family is there to help out. You have a lot on your shoulders right now, you need the support.

    So sorry to hear that your daughter is sick! DS has been sick with a bad cough since Tuesday and I feel so bad for him. Like notreal said, it's sad when they are so little and sick and don't realize that they will eventually be better. I hope your girl is feeling better soon!

    I'm so sorry. My DD had strep this week- my mom kept them while I was in the hospital for the c/s and had to take her to the doc. It's been so hard not being there to make her feel better :-(. Also, when you know what she has, you may want to call YOUR doc to let them know. They put me on antibiotics to try to keep me from catching it so you may need the same. Good luck- hope they get her feeling better ASAP.
