TMI but need help!

My LO is 10 weeks old and I had her via c section due to her being breech. I thought sex wouldn't be bad since I didn't push her out but it hurts. And worst of all SMELLS like fishy grossness. Before I was pregnant and through my entire pregnancy I never had any odor down there and it's so awful now I feel bad for my husband when we do have sex because it smells. Anyone else have the same issue? I just don't know what I can do to make it normal and odorless like it has been my whole life (up until now)! TIA!

  • I would make an appointment with my OBGYN. Have you noticed anything else? Itchiness? Swelling? Discharge? It might be something, it might be nothing, but I would always recommend seeing a doctor for change like this.

  • I'm not sure a smell is normal, but it might be since your pp hormones are out of whack still causing an abnormal smell. But it might be worth asking your doc just to be sure.
  • A smell can be anything from hormones to yeast infection to pH being off. I would be more concerned with the pain than the smell.

    Check with your OBGYN.

I had the fishy odor after my c-section (DD#1 in 2011). It went away on its own somewhere between 6 and 20 weeks. In retrospect, I should have asked my OB about it. I had really painful -ok usually nonexistent - sex during the last couple of months of my second pregnancy. Vericose veins were part if the cause. I also had a bacteria infection.....that being said, do talk to your OB.
