DH gets his tonsils out today. I'm a huge mess. My ride home from work last night I was busy making financial/logistical plans for when he dies on the table, because I always think in worst case scenario ways and there was that teenage girl in CA who died from a tonsillectomy lately...yeah. So this morning I dropped a cranky toddler off at a daycare that might close early (luckily, my backup plan is the daycare provider, and she's fine with taking C early if needed), came home, had a hissy fit about the state of the house, yelled at DH for not moving fast enough, and am sitting quietly on the couch having a meltdown with my sweater pulled up over my mouth because that oddly feels better. It does not help that we're supposed to get 8 inches of snow today, the procedure is a half hour drive into the center of Boston, and with DH out of commission and me being pregnant, I have to bed the neighbors for help clearing the driveway. Oh, and in 20 minutes we have a conference call with a refinance lady, because let's make that appointment for the morning of surgery...I'm such an idiot.
I DO NOT LIKE MY ANXIETY!
Please repeat: DH will be fine, it's a simple procedure, and the snow will not be as bad as you think, and C will be delighted to spend extra time with her friends.
Thank you for your kind gifs of support. You can find me hiding in my sweater in tears.
He's fine!! Thank you all for helping me calm down!!

P.S. Getting your tonsils out as an adult sucks. The procedure is simple but the recovery is slow. Make him drink his fluids according to the doctors orders. Be aware that the scabs eventually come off and it is not pretty.
Take a deep breathe and try to relax, he will be fine.
But seriously I totally get being anxious about things even if you know they are totally going to be fine. It made the news because it was so incredibly rare not because it is something that happens normally. I will send you have favorite hug gif.

Super bonus was emailing my neighbor to see if her husband could possibly shovel us a path to our front door, and he cleared off my car and the entire driveway!! I love my neighbors.
Thanks for checking in
