Confessions of a Pregnant Girl

Today my husband was meeting friends out for a drink after work and was supposed to go straight to poker night with his buddies. I decided that I worked hard cleaning the house today and decided to bring home a large Papa Murphy's pizza. It's in the oven and I have an episode of Gossip Girl on. My husband walks in the door and surprises me! I should have been happy right? Nope! I went into complete b*tch mode and acted like he was interrupting some awesome exciting party that I was having. To top it off, he asked if he could have some pizza and I told him no. Let's just say, he went to poker and I may or may not have eaten the entire large pizza by myself.
Now I feel like a major jerk who is about to bust at the seams. Crazy hormones!!!!!

Please tell me you all have confessions too!

  • My dad had emergency surgery in the wee hours of Monday morning. Later that morning I find out that my boss's mom died(I volunteer at a non-profit bookstore). So my hormonal self decides to process this all as I am driving home from the grocery store. By the time I get into my driveway I am sobbing so hard, I can barely see. I try to call DH to come talk to me and bring in the groceries but he didn't hear his phone ring. So who did I call? My mom. She is always there when I need her.

  • I felt like an a-hole yesterday. All day I had been craving a burger from a very specific burger place. The burger place I wanted is about a 20-30 minute drive away. When DH got home he asked what I wanted to do for dinner, and I said I really wanted that burger. He isn't a huge fan of that place, and he didn't want to drive for half an hour to get it. I pretty much threw a hissy fit. I ended up caving in and going to a different burger place that was equally delicious, but i gave him such a hard time for telling me we could get whatever *I* wanted, and then telling me I couldn't have the thing I really wanted.

    Told ya, a-hole.

  • I am blaming this on pregnancy brain instead of just admitting that I'm an idiot:

I went to Starbucks yesterday to pick up a mocha to drop off at DH's work as a surprise.  I handed them my card, they handed me the drink, I drove away.  I got ten minutes down the road before I realized what I'd done.  I had to drive all the way back to get my card.
  • I love this. I feel like the same exact thing could happen to me. The other day DH called in sick to spend time with me and I was like whaaa? I have a whole day of crappy reality tv planned, I don't know what you're going to do!

Yes, usually I love spending as much time as I can with my hubby, but yesterday was "I want to watch stupid girly stuff on TV and stuff my face....and I don't need anyone here to judge me" kind of day :)

  • This morning I had 30 minutes to get out the door. I spent 20 of them crying because I'm sick of the winter and my commute and our inflexible schedule. Are any of these things tear-worthy? Not really.

OMG, so I actually watched YouTube videos of women giving birth....why? I have no clue. I started crying every time they got to the hard labor and had to push. What the heck is wrong with me? Lol I don't recommend watching these videos...especially when you have the next 31.5 weeks to think about what you watched. :)
  • I have been on business trip since Monday and just got home last night.  I sat down to watch my guilty pleasure shows (Dance Moms and Teen Mom 2) that I had recorded and lo and behold, my darling DH and step daughter had canceled my recordings.  I was LIVID and cried like a baby for a good 10 minutes.  Full on ugly crying at that.  Yay hormones!

Last night we watched the documentary about Ina May Gaskin and The Farm and so saw several natural midwife-attended births, including one breech birth. It's well worth the watch and pretty inspiring, especially if you're considering natural birth or using a midwife, but also OMG, so many babies emerging.

  • my bf opened a can of corn and the smell made me sick. he kept apologizing and saying he would find something else to eat. I totally just freaked out at him and was like JUST EAT IT! THE DAMAGE IS DONE! i seriously spent the next three hours apologizing even though he said it was fine and he understands. i felt like the worst person in the world.

  • iualum05  it is the worst when you have a plan to hang by yourself and relax and it gets ruined.  Don't feel bad!
  • I lost it at a co-worker who took my pen from my desk this morning. My Paper-Mate ball point pen. That the company provides. (But in my defense, this was the second day in a row)

What's the name of the documentary?
  • My DH and I just got into a heated argument because he is redoing the closet in the hall (because I need more storage space to clear out the baby's room) and he wants to paint it. I want him to wait until we paint the baby's room so I don't have to evacuate the house two separate times to avoid fumes, and also it is WAY to cold to open the windows to air it out. He thought the solution was to just not do the closet at all yet, even though I need it done to clean out the baby's room...Long story short, the conversation ended with me telling him to do what ever the "f" he wants and reminding him that we have a lot to do in the next 6 months so he needs to get his butt in gear and actually help me. Strong over reaction, and he really is helpful, BUT I have hormones raging through my body, and that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Smart man that he is, he just went into town to get some flooring for the closet, and came back with Ben & Jerry's Half Baked fro yo, and some DVDs of my favorite old movies (High Society, Funny Face, Going My Way, and Sabrina).
