I know a few of us were told we only have one umbilical artery. Just wanted to see how everyone's doing? My anatomy scan looked fine, but I am getting an echocardiogram to check on baby's heart more closely In a couple of weeks. I was told that if that looks ok, then no more checks would be needed. Have your ob/gyns seemed to follow a similar plan? Anyone being monitored more frequently closer to their due date to make sure growth looks on track? Keeping you all in my thoughts!
Re: Checking in on Single Umbilical Artery ladies
Feb 7th I have to go back for another scan to check baby's growth. Not sure how many more of these scans I will be getting. But I know they are going to keep track of baby's size and make sure he's getting everything needed.
I hope all is well for you. I'm still a little nervous about it, but my gut feeling tells me things will end up okay for me and my baby.
I am 13 weeks 5 days pregnant and was just informed this week that I have a Single Umbilicle Artery. I am trying my best not to stress so much over this because I do not want to make things worse by stressing. But I have to admit I am terrified. Its good to hear your pregnancies are normal so far, it gives me hope and assurance. So far my babies growth has been right on track so im curious to see how things turn out further down the road. I am still waiting for my results to see if there are any abnormalities caused by my SUA, crossing my fingers. Also I was wondering if this made either of you feel drained. I have been feeling very tired throughout my pregnancy so far and I know that is normal, but I have also been feeling very drained so I was wondering if SUA can be a cause. I eat healthy but it doesnt seem to help. Any similar symptoms with you guys?
Hi there! I don't think I feel significantly more drained than my first pregnancy. It's hard to tell cause I am now 3 years older, had to also get a cerclage and am not allowed to exercise (totally unrelated to single umbilical artery). My echocardiogram this week looked good, so hopefully my SUA is a fluke thing and all else looks healthy with baby. They are going to do growth scans once a month for me until week 36, then once a week. Good luck with your pregnancy and try not to stress too much!
