GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of?

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 28, eggplant

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? Feeling good in general, saw my first stretch mark this week, can't eat meat any later than 3pm if I want to sleep at all. Indigestion/reflux sucks. And I've been on meds for it for over a year

LO is moving around a lot, though, and I love that.

Upcoming appointments? Updates? GTT next week. And I mentioned a 3/4D us to H and he *may* be interested in doing one.

Rants/Raves? Rants: reflux. Not enough sex. Raves: I get to wear casual clothes to work so my preggo yoga pants are my best friend.

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? Hm. I was engaged to be married to Husband #1 (in 2005) and my first love/probably the guy I was meant to be with/best friend showed up at my door at 9pm on a Sunday night two weeks before my wedding and asked me to take a walk. Over the course of about an hour, he gave me IOU's I'd made him in HS and college (we dated for five years) and asked to redeem them. He then told me that I was his best friend, that we belonged together, and that he wanted to be with me and take care of me forever. He asked me not to marry H#1 and to marry him instead. I cried. I said no.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 28 weeks - eggplant

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? Feeling pretty good for the most part. By the end of the day, I am exhausted - worse than in 1st Tri! And now the constant indigestion/heartburn is here to stay. I have to try and sleep propped up on pillows, but it's not making a huge difference honestly. I'm psyched to be in Third Tri though!

Upcoming appointments? Updates? Had my 28 week appointment this week and passed my GTT! I'm so relieved. Next appointment is 31 weeks and an U/S to check on LO's growth (I have an SUA). DH and I may go for a 3d/4d U/S this weekend...he really wants to, but for some reason I'm nervous!

Rants/Raves? Other than the bad heartburn, I'm pretty comfortable for the most part. Can't really complain this week! My rave is that DH bought me an Edible Arrangement instead of flowers for Valentine's Day this year!! We share a bank account, so I happened to stumble upon it yesterday while balancing the checkbook. I've never had one but am looking forward to chocolate covered fruit :-)

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? Is it sad to say NOTHING? I'm not really a romantic person, and though DH tries, I tend to find really romantic things super corny...and then I get uncomfortable.

Have you read Kurt Vonnegut's short story, "Long Walk to Forever" ???? This is soooo similar! It gave me chills because my college bf gave me a book of KV short stories and marked this one. He wrote in the margin that if we ever drifted apart, he would always come back for me. It seemed romantic at the time. Thinking about it now, I'm not so sure. Anyway, after we broke up (because he moved several states away and I didn't go with him) we decided to stop talking for a while which turned into about 6 years. A month before my wedding to my husband, I got a facebook message from him. (We aren't FB friends to this day.) It said he was doing some random searching and saw where it looked like I was getting married at the end of that month. Congrats to me and to the luckiest guy in the world. I was on edge a bit until the wedding hoping he didn't just show up. He didn't.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 27 weeks

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? I'm feeling pretty good. Heartburn, sleeplessness (though, that is in part to my toddler), and maybe a bit less movement than usual. Baby seems not quite so squirmy.

Upcoming appointments? Updates? I don't have another appointment until the 24th. I called my OB office about my 3 hour GTT results and the nurse said she had nothing to report to me. So, either I passed or they are just going to wait until my appointment on the 24th to give me the news. Also, I have a follow up ultrasound at this appt. Baby wouldn't show a profile of his/her face and the doctor wants the picture.

Rants/Raves? Rants: I really want to crawl back into bed but I've got 3 cakes to make for Valentine's Day orders and a birthday cake for a 1 year old tomorrow. Raves: We are having take out pizza for dinner and I'm excited!

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? My mind is totally blank. This is so sad! I may have to come back and edit later.

Week? Fruit/Veggies?

27 weeks today! Baby is the size of a rutabaga.

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms?

I switch between spurts of energy and exhaustion, with more exhaustion. The medications I'm on are keeping the contractions at bay, but I'm starting to get some other symptoms that I'm not sure are pregnancy related. My scalp itches like crazy, to the point that I think I have actually scratched/damaged the back of my head. I'm also starting to feel carpel tunnel-like symptoms in my wrists. But baby boy is kicking and wiggling, and that makes everything worth it!

I was supposed to have a growth scan with the MFM today, but it got postponed until Saturday due to the snow. I have an a regular OB appointment tomorrow afternoon, and I'll be getting another fetal fibronectin test. If it's negative, I'll be able to go on my last set-up business trip next week; fingers crossed.

Rants/Raves?

No real rants this week aside from my head ITCHING SO MUCH. My raves: I love my husband and my kids so much. Sappy, but I think every day about how lucky I am to have everything we have.

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of?

Probably my proposal. My husband (bf at the time) was transitioning from the Army to the Air Force and had to go to Texas for 6 months for job training. He was supposed to come home on inauguration day 2009 (which I was not looking forward to; traffic was nuts that week). The Friday before, I went out to the movies with my girlfriends. When I got back to my apartment, there were candles everywhere and a note that said "On the Balcony." When I got out to the balcony, my H was there, dressed to the 9s and got down on one knee.

It turns out he had tutored all of the other students in his training class and worked with the instructors so that they could graduate early and he could come home and surprise me.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 26 weeks, head of lettuce

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? Pregnancy-wise, feeling pretty good. Some random rib pain in my right rib, but nothing crazy. I've been sick with a cold which I am just now getting over and I think it has slowed baby down a bit, he's not quite as active which has me a little on edge, but he's still moving around so I am not gonna freak out for now.

Upcoming appointments? Updates? Just had by GTT on Monday, still waiting to hear any results.

Rants/Raves? Rants - This cold really got the better of me and now I am so paranoid about getting sick again before baby comes. I am becoming a germ freak, which is no fun. Raves - Getting ready to go on vacation with hubby! We used to live in NYC and are going back for a wedding so will get to see lots of friends and eat at all of my favorite places. Only thing I'm worried about is what I will wear in the cold because I don't have any warm coats that will fit over this bump!

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? I'm not a super romantic person, it sort of weirds me out when people are too romantic...so I would have to say just my relationship with my husband. We've been together for nine years and have really grown up together in a lot of ways. When I look back at all that we have been through together and all that we have put up with from each other it only makes me love him more, and then to realize that it's all brought us to this point, where we are bringing our own little being into this world and we are about to embark on a whole new chapter of growing together...that's romantic to me. I know...cheeseball.

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? Feeling good - lots of BHs though the last couple of days. Heartburn is awful!

Upcoming appointments? Updates? Just went this morning for my glucose test. I start going every 2 weeks now. I need to go next week to get my Rhogam shot.

Rants/Raves? No rants. Raves - it has been warming up here (read above freezing) so I am pretty happy about that.

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? When DH proposed to me. It may sound stupid but it was freezing in Chicago in January and DH proposed to me outside just he and I. I didn't realize it but all of our friends were watching from the bar across the street.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? Week 27, rutabaga/cauliflower/teddy bear

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? Mostly great, but the heartburn is getting out of control and I am starting to get more uncomfortable as I am getting bigger and bigger. And I haven't slept through the night in at least a month! I almost missed my alarm this morning!

Upcoming appointments? Updates? Next appointment is next Thursday. They will do a GTT and a repeat u/s to look at a membrane or band or something there. My doc didn't seem too worried so I am trying not to worry.

Rants/Raves? My first baby shower is next weekend! I'm so excited!

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? Gosh, I don't know! My DH isn't really the romantic type. When we first started dating we were off and on for about a year until finally he said that no matter what happened with us he wanted me to know that he was ridiculously in love with me and i would always mean something to him. We've been together since!

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? I get this sunburn feeling right under my boobs that's annoying and new. Other than that, not much.

Upcoming appointments? Updates? I have birthing class tonight and my bi-weekly check-in next Tuesday at my doctor's appointments.

Rants/Raves? Rave: Our nursery is coming along and I am SO excited!

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? This is really hard and I can't think of any grand gestures outside of our engagement. My husband does all those really simple things that I just love and find romantic in day-to-day life. The everyday things make me really appreciate him and realize how lucky I am and I find that very romantic.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? We are week 28 - eggplant!
How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? No unusual symptoms. I’m having trouble sleeping, bending, and starting to feel more uncomfortable in general.
Upcoming appointments? Updates? We had our 28 week appointment today, and things are going well. The doctor told me I was doing “great” on weight gain, so that was a relief. I’m looking forward to an ultrasound at our 30 week appointment!
Rants/Raves? No pregnancy related rants. My raves are for feeling my little one kick like crazy, and seeing the belly bumps. My first baby shower is next weekend, and I can’t wait to fly home and see my family!
GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? My husband wrote really sweet wedding vows and was teary at our wedding. It was one of the best moments in my life.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 28 weeks - eggplant

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? - still feeling pretty good with the exception of some pretty bad lower back/hip pain. I didn't have anything like this last pregnancy, and I am very disappointed that prenatal yoga hasn't been helping in the least. At my appointment today, though, my mw offered to write a referral for therapeutic massage, so I will definitely be taking advantage of that!

Upcoming appointments? Updates? Today was my 28 week appointment and my 2 hour glucose test. Hoping to get results online tomorrow. My next appointment isn't until 32 weeks, so March 14th.

Rants/Raves? Rave! After fasting for my glucose test, I hurried over to McDonald's for some breakfast (FFTC?). I thought they served it until 11, but alas, it is only until 10:30. Luckily for me, they still had a single bacon, egg and cheese biscuit available. That totally made my day!

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? Hmm... I can't think of anything good. MH is not the romantic type. Generally I am not either, though I wouldn't mind a little romance in my life, just occasionally. I'll update later if anything in particular comes to mind.

Week? Fruit/Veggies? 28 weeks - eggplant

How are you feeling? Noticing any new or unusual symptoms? I'm tired and sore. My pelvis and tailbone ache. I also feel like I got kicked in the crotch. Heartburn is also getting bad. I puked all over my living room yesterday

Upcoming appointments? Updates? I had my 28 week appointment today. I got my Tdap and glucose screen. When I was pregnant with DD they did a fingner poke and used a glucometer and I got my results right away. This time it was a venous draw that got sent to the lab. They said I should hear tomorrow or Monday. I just want to know!

Rants/Raves? I'm crabby tonight so excuse my excessive ranting. DH has been working a ton for months now. He works 5, 12 hour night shifts/week. Lately they have been more like 16 hour shifts. Because he works nights, one of his days off is spent sleeping and he's usually still pretty much a zombie on his second day off. I'm so tired of nothing being done around the house. I feel like he is home long enough to make a mess and sleep and then he's gone again. DD has been sleeping like crap and I'm exhausted. I'm really overwhelmed and I just don't know how much longer I can do it. I've been in tears multiple times today.

GTKY: What's the most romantic thing that's ever happened to you, or that you've been a part of? My husband is not the romantic type. He proposed at Disney world. In theory it was romantic, but I totally knew it was happening so it wasn't THAT romantic.
