Back from l&d after spotting

I just got home from l&d after having brown/pink discharge this morning at 27 weeks. Everything is fine with me and baby. I just wanted to post so that others can hear about non-scary reasons for spotting/coloured discharged if it occurs.
In my case the bleeding was coming from my cervix which was irritated (there was a much more complicated explanation but I think that summarizes it). It may continue to happen and I was told I wouldn't need to return unless it was heavy like a period or if it was accompanied by pain or contractions.
All this to say that I'm glad I went to triage and if it happens to you I'd recommend going also, but that there are many explanations for spotting that are not terrible so try to remain calm (I tried to but at first I was anything but calm). I know I must have read similar posts before but it all went out the window when it happened to me...

FTR, if you have new bleeding, go get it checked out. It will probably end up good, but at this point? Better safe than sorry.
