Stretch mark blues....

I know we have talked about this a little here and there in other threads, but I'm really down about this today.

I've always had a couple little stretch marks here and there. All white and only noticeable by me. I was always worried about what pregnancy would do to me knowing I already have them. Well I already have them BAD (not exaggerating) on my legs mainly. Inner thighs, outer thighs, behind my knees and on my butt. None on my stomach yet but a couple on my side that don't bother me.

Just tell me I'm not alone in feeling really down about this. I KNOW ITS 100% WORTH IT in the long run. I already love my baby girl more than anything. It's just hard to know I'll never be comfortable in a swimsuit again. I want to always feel sexy for my husband but hard to do knowing I'm marked forever. He's very sweet and tells me he doesn't care and that I'm having his baby. But it still bothers me.....

Please fill me with lies and tell me they magically go away after birth :) I just don't want this to bother me forever!

  • They'll fade. I feel you though. I've got glaring purple red stretch marks all over my thighs, hips, and ass.

Yes mine are purple. I think if they were white they wouldn't bother me as much considering my old white ones never did. Oh pregnancy!
  • My belly is a purple railroad track. I already had them on my hips/boobs from puberty so I knew it was going to happen. They'll fade, I dare anyone to comment unpleasantly to me about mine.

I got them on my boobs after DD was born and my milk came in and I thought they were pretty horrible, but they faded so much I can't even see them myself anymore. There's hope they'll fade away!

  • I've had some on my belly, hips, thighs, and boobs for years. I just started getting dark red/purple ones on my belly and my hubby has been like isn't there any cream you can get or anything, and I know most of the time it's based on how quickly your belly stretches, genetics, etc, so it irritates me, but I just tell him that there is nothing I can do about them, they'll fade eventually. I do put lotion on, I just know that the stretch marks are on the second layer of skin that lotion can't even get to. I'm hoping they don't get much worse, but considering I still have 4 months to go, I'm pretty sure that they will.

Yeah I use cocoa butter too. Not to prevent them but it's supposed to help them fade. Who knows if it does. I thought I would get lucky Bc my mom only got a few little white ones, but nope! And I've even been gaining weight just as I should so it's frustrating! Like I said I know it's worth it, it's just hard!
  • Try using Bio Oil! Especially at night. Just lather/massage it on! I use the cocoa butter too and it's fantastic. I am a small build and I have the purple scratch marks on my chest...it's definitely hard but as y'all have said it's worth it in the end! (FTM btw).
I've not yet gotten them in my belly...but have started noticing some on my thighs and hips. We are all still beautiful! We will just have our tiger stripes =)
  • They will fade. Or I will just not look at them. One way or another I won't see them. So far pretending they are not there is working.
  • I have gained 4 freaking pounds and I have purple railroad tracks on my belly, I'm sorry but no amount of cocoa butter is going to help me thanks to genetics. My fundal height is 34 weeks  (I'm 27w5d) my belly feels like it will explode.

Sometimes I think he just says what I want to hear. But I'm ok with that as along as her never tells me that! :):)

My first pregnancy I did not get one stretch mark on my stomach, BUT I got a ton on my inner thighs and boobs. All of which I didn't realize until after delivery. I was heartbroken that I had them on my inner thighs. They went down to my knees so you could see them in shorts. They did completely fade and the following summer I felt much more comfortable in shorts and a bathing suite. I really don't think you could notice them anymore and if someone was looking that hard at my inner thighs than they have issues. Lol. Cheer up, they will fade. :).

With DS I got them on my boobs and butt cheeks/back of thighs. Mine did seem to fade pretty well. I got a nasty one right above my belly button from where I had it pierced (I took it out the day I found out I was pregnant). It's the most ugly stretch mark I've got! So... Don't pierce your belly button.

Mine is already pierced but I took it out several weeks ago. The hole has stretched and looks weird!
  • Once you are all done being pregnant you can use stretch mark reduction creams. Those creams don't work to PREVENT them but they def do help fade them.

  • I complained for the past year because I lost a lot of weight and had excess skin on my mid section.

Now it's become a blessing because I haven't had to deal with new stretch marks because my body is just expanding within that extra skin.

Of course after pregnancy it will be another story as I deal with the lose skin again, but I try to look at the positives because I'll have my little guy to remind me of how worth it the entire journey had been!

That's what I'm looking forward to! The minute I see her sweet face it'll make it all worth it! I know it's silly to get upset about, but somedays I just do. But I really wouldn't trade it for anything. I've always wanted to be a mommy and it's finally happening :)

I've always had white ones on my hips, butt, and inner thighs. My belly has been ok so far but I noticed after my shower last night that my underboobs look like they've been clawed. Nice, deep purple stretch marks. That was an unexpected surprise. I keep telling myself that at least they're not easily visible - if I hadn't lifted them up to put Palmer's oil on them, I'd never have noticed. But I am still kind of disappointed that it's started.

  • I have nothing to say about the stretch marks themselves, but I will say that if your husband tells you he doesn't care about them and he thinks you're sexy no matter what, don't disrespect him or belittle his taste in women (YOU!) by openly disagreeing with him. That really frustrates men.

Oh I completely agree! I've learned that over the years. Plus if he looked at me differently because I had stretch marks from carrying his child, then he's the one with the issues. My husband constantly tells me it's no big deal. I love him for that, mainly because it's true! I just have emotional days where it bothers me more than others.
  • I got dark purple stretch marks on my belly at 36 weeks with DD--and they were nearly faded completely when I got pregnant again 6 months later. There is hope!
