MSPI DISCUSSION

So I have been looking online and it's still to early to call the pedi office so I thought while I'm nursing and so I don't fall asleep I'll post!
I have been on MSPI diet dairy free for a little over a month and now soy free for about a week. I have also been supplementing about a bottle a day with nurtramigin formula. His poops have gotten better, they have returned to the seedy texture from the runny mucus ones he used to have. But last night out of no where his diaper was back to square one. I'm thinking was it the BEEF I ate last night that did it?? I know there is something still in my diet I'm eating that is causing a small intolerance. Last night yikes I went to town on some beef. Does anyone know or heard of beef not fitting into this MSPI diet.

Re: MSPI DISCUSSION

  • Yes I had the same issue. It wasn't just the dairy, but the whole cow in our scenario. We've ended up cutting dairy, soy, gluten, nuts, all meat, mangos and eggs.

  • wow @babyherzog123 how did you figure all of those things? Did you do it one by one? Or all together? And how did you figure out what to eat ?

  • Yes extreme mspi mommas may have to cut beef sometimes as well. Good luck!

@lighteninglarose I took them out one at a time. It was confusing and frustrating. Im not going to lie its been difficult. I have lost 20 pounds after I lost the 20 after birth so a total of 40 down from my 40 week weight. Black beans and white rice has saved me. The green wise publix has a lot more food that I can eat than the regular publix. The key is to read every label and know the hidden ingredients. For example, "natural flavor" may contain soy and "carmel color" contains dairy. I is best to have some back up or emergency foods. Mine is gerber bananas. Yes baby food. It fits in the baby bag and can keep me from crashing in an outing. Let me know If you want me to make a quick list of a few safe brands.

I'd be happy to: Let me preface this by saying that I am not a professional. These are just things that have worked for me. Always double check labels as different flavors of these brands may not be compatible to your diet. Some of these contain egg
    Brand:variety
    Muller's:  gluten free pasta
earthly choice: gaden veggie easy quinoa
sweet baby rays: bbq sauce hickory and brown sugar
    Ole: corn tortillas
    sunmaid: dried appricots
flax usa:flax milk (original or vanilla) <---is my go to when my milk supply gets low
    publix:all natural chunky salsa
food should rase good: multigrain tortilla chips
    boars heads: natural hummus
    publix: apple juice
    qrunch: quinoa burgers
garden lites: soufflés (check each flavor)
rudis: cinnamon bread (in the frozen section)
    udis: bagel(plain) <---contains egg
    glutino: strawberry breakfast bars
chex: gluten free a bunch of diff flavors. my fav is original
most white rice is safe but aways check.
black beans by bush's is safe. he public brand has soy so be careful
    smuckers: raspberry jam
    spectrum: chia seed
Enjoy life: all products from this company are safe
and then of course all your raw ingredients and fruits and veggies
daiya: makes cheese alts but personally i can't keep it down.
amy's: gluten free dairy free burrito in frozen section. only sold in some places.
classico: tomato and basil <--- check tomato sauces carefully as most are loaded with soy
canola oil in the bottle. the spray has soy so check it
theres more n I'll add as I can. sorry for typos Mackenzie woke up from a nap lol
  • earth balance makes a butter sub. its red and says soy free on it

  • When removing more from your diet was the pedi telling you this or just doing it on your own?
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Goodness one more question are you staying away from foods that have label warnings of MAY CONTAIN
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I talked to the ped daily for a while, while we were figuring it out. one of the peds actually had a daughter that had dairy and soy intolerance for a while. Some of the labels on the list caution MAY CONTAIN, but I personally haven't had any issues with those foods. Enjoy life foods are dedicated allergen free equipment, but nothing else is. It probably depends on the severely of the allergy/intolerance. *side note: I just went to target and they actually had a lot of the Amy's brand frozen meals and three of them were safe for me. Does your baby have eczema? Mackenzie does but it is 99% controlled by diet. The other 1% is cool weather.
