Maternity wedding dress?

My fiancé and I have changed our wedding plans for the millionth time. We have decided to do the wedding before the baby instead of after. This will be a small ceremony for immediate family at the beach. Does anyone have a recommendation of where I can buy a maternity wedding dress? It doesn't have to be an actual wedding dress, just a pretty, ivory dress appropriate for a beach wedding.

    Tiffany rose has a fantastic selection of maternity wedding gowns :) also David's bridal has some nice ones which may be more affordable. I believe empire styled gowns are the best look for maternity gowns so, you could look online for that option as well.

    I think many women purchase a regular gown bigger than their actual size and just get it tailored. That way you aren't limited to just brands that make maternity dresses. If you call around to local dress shops, I am sure they will have suggestions on what's the best option.

    I am a seamstress and it is quite difficult to change a normal gown into a wedding gown. It will most likely end up being very costly.

    Probably your best bet is to look for a maternity gown at a big bridal salon, or see if you can find a nice maternity dress (not necessarily bridal) in a maternity shop. Good luck!

    David's! The one thing I learned with them though is alterations are expensive! So if you need to get a lot done to it. Would be worth a second opinion if you have the time to save some money!! Their dresses are great though. That's where I got my wedding dress!!

    I was going to suggest Tiffany Rose. They have gorgeous stuff, but pricy.

    This was my thought. My friend had a normal wedding gown that she picked up at goodwill and her MIL added the needed fabric. She was a size 0 pre-pregnancy and was 5 months pregnant at her wedding and was very big. The dress looked like it had been made that way. Like PP said David's bridal alterations are expensive so shopping around for alterations would save some money if you have the time. Good luck!

    I don't know of any brands off hand but when you do decide on a dress make sure to post a picture so we can all admire how gorgeous it is!

    Another option to consider would be getting a dress made by a seamstress.  It's not always nearly as expensive as people think it is.  It just might be better though to ask if s/he has experience in altering for/creating for pregnant women, just so you're not her guinea pig.

    My wedding is may 17 and I will be about 6 months preggers... I ordered a dress from Tiffany rose.. The long white lace one, it was under $400 I believe. I am SO pleased with this dress, it looks elegant and fits like a dream. I didn't know lace could stretch like that! Even makes my tattoos look prettier lol. I feel like I will look like a beautiful feminine bride... I really suggest them, but good luck finding yours :)

    Since it is a beach wedding I think something like this would be really pretty if you're ok with a more casual look. From previous experience when planning my wedding anything designated "bridal" or "wedding" was automatically way more expensive. This one says it's $88. Score!
