this is on my list! I'm also eyeing the next fit and I'm torn!!
I totally recommend trying to find a place to have LO sit in them. I bought the Next Fit from Target when it was on sale and every time I have put DD in it she is not happy. I really want to like it, but I don't like that she doesn't like it. When I went to Buy Buy Baby to have her try the RXT she seemed happier. I am not try to sell you on the Radian, just on testing out some seats.

It is so confusing! I feel like it is such a huge decision, but I know it doesn't have to be so stressful. There are just so many options. Good luck deciding!
Graco Headwise 70. Only been using it a week but like it so far. It has one of the tallest shells available, and since ds goes between the 75-90th percentiles for height at his appts, we didn't have too many options since a lot of the shells are shorter.
I second the suggestion to use the Car Seats for the littles facebook page. You can give them your what type of car you have and your kid's size and they will give you a recommendation
We have a Nextfit because we loved our Keyfit. We like it so far (have been using it for almost 3 months). The straps were a little difficult to get the hang of and tighten (the pads would get stuck on her clothes because the grips were strong and it would be difficult to tighten). Apparently that has been changed in models manufactured after Oct 2013 though. (they have removable pads now)
ETA we also bought the Nextfit because it is one of the seats that will allow RFing for tall kids longer (the recommendation is to RF to at least 2 but as close to 4 as you can). Like someone else mentioned Britax are good seats but not good if you have a tall kid
I have 2 Evenflo Triumphs and 2 Radians for the older kids. I love the Radian. It folds up for travel and you can put a shoulder strap on it to carry it through the airport. Heavy, but easy. I loved the Evenflo too until I got a Sienna minivan with bucket seats in the 2nd row. When the Evenflo is rear facing in those seats it is really hard to turn the strap adjustment knob. It would be fine in most vehicles though. I need to check expiration dates and move seats around between cars before deciding who is getting a new seat when DD outgrows the baby bucket.

what do you have? The First Years True Fit Recline
do u love it? hate? which would u have gotten instead? love that it has Minnie on it We got Evenflo Tributes at first, but then one of our friends at B.R.U. told us how he had that one and when he went to adjust the plastic rocking piece, the ball slipped out of the socket. When he tried to pop it back in the right way, the whole plastic part cracked. After this and more research, I decided on the one we got, and a Minnie one popped up when looking on Amazon. We haven't opened it yet tho'. We'll probably do that today and install it next week. I dunno what I would've gotten instead.
We have a Snugli All-in-one, which is basically an Evenflo Symphony DLX with nicer fabric and memory foam (plus it's not ugly like most seats, not that that matters).
We love it so far...I like that the straps snug by his hips and not up at his neck (I seem to always pinch his fat cheeks and neck in his infant bucket), and the ratcheting SureLatch system is really simple for swapping seats between DH and my car. It fits into our Nissan Leaf hatchback and my Infiniti Q50 sedan and takes up less space than the bucket did.
We got the nextfit, have been using it got a few weeks.. So far no complaints! She seems much happier in it then the infant seat, and installation wasn't terrible. I love the ease of adjusting the straps height and length
I had been leaning towards a Britax, but found out that they aren't good for tall babies. (LO is 75% for height.)
This is why we didn't get a Britax. After deciding we were gonna return the Evenflo Tributes, relatives w/kids recommended Britax, but then I heard about how they weren't good for tall babies, and d.d.'s in the 97%.
We have an evenflo symphony. Used it with ds1 until he recently transitioned to a convertible booster. I like it a lot, it is big, but I did not have trouble fitting it in our cars rear or forward facing.
This! We have had an evenflo symphony for DS1 for the last two years, and it's been great rear and forward facing. We bought another for DS2 and will probably install it soon since we don't use the plastic bucket for car naps, etc. anymore.
