Baby born after mother kept on life support.

Mom had a massive brain bleed and was declared brain dead. She was kept on "life support" for a month until the baby was born at 28 weeks.

  • So sad for the husband to lose his wife, but what great news that the baby is seemingly healthy.
  • I have seen a few articles now where they compare this situation (he is Canadian) to the situation in the States. I feel it is unfair to the American father who wanted his wife off of life support. This Canadian mother was further along and they had done tests and knew the baby was healthy and doing well. The American mother was not as far along and the baby was not doing well. Anyway, I just wish the news would stop comparing them.

I know! This article compares them too and it's definitely not the same situation.

  • I bawled when I saw the interview with the father last night on the news. It was both the happiest and saddest moments of his life.

  • This is just a few hours away from where I live. Such an incredible story! What medicine and science has evolved to is both amazing and scary at the same time.

  • Wow. So emotional. I teared up reading this.
  • I agree, they unfairly compared the two stories. In the States the baby was without oxygen, not doing well and would have a miserable life if born. The Canadian family had a better go. The article made the American family seem heartless which just isn't true.
