NT scan tomorrow

Hiya! Tomorrow I have an NT scan and blood work. What should I expect from this appt?

    NT is just and US. I saw a genetic counselor that talked to us about the choices we had for the blood work.
    I had NT scan first then met w counselor then did the blood work.

    We were there 11/2 hrs. Not sure if this is how everyone does it.

    Spotting,clot 2/15/13 all ok......2/21/13 no heartbeat 11 w 4 d missed miscarriage........2/22/13 DnC :(

    Is the blood work just like normal? And does all blood work taken for genetic testing reveal the gender? I know I should have asked my doc these questions, but didn't think of it while was at that appt!

    You don't have to find out the sex if you have the materni21 blood work done. The Dr will ask you if you want to know when he calls to give you the results.
    We decided to know since my hubby had to know. I would have waited. Lol

    Hope it goes well!! I had blood work but they just tested levels of certain hormones/ proteins. If the levels were out of a certain range we would have done more in depth testing. The nuchal screen and blood work is don't between 11 and 13 weeks I believe and then they drew more blood at around 16 weeks. Then they put your blood work numbers in a formula to give you odds of your baby having trisomy 18, tri21 and a neural tube defect. Hope this helps. This is how my doc does it, could be different where you are.
