V Day?

Are new moms celebrating Valentines Day? My LO is 15 days old and I have no brain power to think of and buy a gift for DH esp w only 2 days left. I know DH got me something but I have no idea what he spent. We dont want to go out to dinner and leave LO w the in laws. Any ideas on something little i can get him or do something for him? My attention has obvi been on LO lately so i want to do SOMETHING for him...

We will exchange cards and get takeout. For our anniversary, v-day &our birthdays, we decided to skip presents in lieu of going away for a weekend at the end of the summer. Just us!

I'm going to (TRY to) make a pancake breakfast.... I'll sneak into the kitchen between a morning feeding while he is still sleeping. It's not much and it's not even like he loves pancakes.... . Idk, it's all I can do really - I can't drive (c section), and we are snowed in!

Nothing has been mentioned but I did share in Facebook a promotion a gourmet cupcake shop around here was having to drop DH a hint. I really would love to go to the melting pot but don't think we have a baby sitter.

We will probably watch House of Cards together. I'm also planning to pump and then sleep 7-8 hours straight bc I'm starting to become delirious. DH suggested I sleep Friday night without realizing it's Valentine's Day. We don't celebrate so I don't think he will mind if I take him up on his offer.

We don't do valentines day. Maybe when DH and I we first started datinG like 12 years ago. It's such a Hallmark holiday. Waste of money

We usually don't do Valentine's day, but for some reason this year DH wants to go out for Chinese. Sounds good to me! MIL will watch the baby if we do actually go out. Might not happen due to a huge storm hitting New England Thursday into Friday.

We were going to try to sneak out to our favorite restaurant after MIL begged us to take the kids off our hands (what?? she cray.) But there were no more reservations, of course, so we're going to go next weekend instead.

I bought little gifts for the kids and Carter's teacher, etc., but nothing (not even a card) for DH. Oops. Oh well.

I guess I'm one of the odd ones...I kind of like Valentine's Day! But I think it's become ridiculously commercialized, pretty much like most holidays. I don't expect jewelry and roses and fancy dinners. I'm happy with a card (that DH actually takes time to pick out and write a heartfelt message in)....I do love flowers so a small bouquet would be a nice treat...or DH cooking dinner (steaks on the grill are his thing!) is always much appreciated.

That being said...DH works that night, I'm going to a church function (taking DD with me). I have only left the house twice since DD was born so I haven't even bought a card for DH and most likely won't...I guess I could go old school and make him one but I have zero energy and even less creativity...sigh...so much for Valentine's Day....

@cnctf I didn't know it was a chain lol they weren't doing so well here so they combined another restaurant together. So one side is melting pot and the other is 100 wines

Not sure what we'll do for dinner but we have a credit for an on demand movie. I got DH a small gift and he got me something apparently. We keep things low key for Valentine's Day in general.

Ha no. For the full dinner for 2 it's around 100. However, after final exams one of our fave things was to go for just wine and desert.

I bought DH cards and the grocery store is having a sale (and a coupon!) on crab legs (his favorite) so I might go get those. I can't even guarantee we'd stay awake for a movie. That's about it for us these days...

My BIL is getting married this weekend, so between the rehearsal dinner tonight and his wedding on Sunday, we decided to just relax on Friday. We usually make a fancy dinner together, but not this year! We also only give gifts for birthdays and Christmas. However, I might try to make a LOVE card for DH, like this one but with red paint on white paper:

Oh man that sounds like fun!! DH and I are big skiers and sad I haven't taken my ski's out of its bag this winter. Can't wait until DS is older to get him on the slopes. Are u and DH going to teach Maddox how to board when he's older??? Where do u live??

We don't celebrate bday but I usually try to do a special breakfast for SO and DS. It didn't happen this morning. I slept instead. SO is working a double and DS doesn't have school today so the kids and I are just hanging out.
