Pregnant after a Loss

Herbal Supplements

I'm new here, but not to The Bump altogether.  I'm currently a member in another forum.

Was curious if anyone here had success with herbal supplements after a loss?  I went to the vitamin store today and spent a small fortune on natural/organic supplements that are supposed to assist in strengthening the reproductive organs, specifically the uterus.

I'm aware that what works for one person may not work for another, but it'd be nice to hear from someone with experience using herbal supplements.

Re: Herbal Supplements

  • After several losses and no answers from my Drs. I sought the help of natural/alternative medicine. After working with an herbalist and an accupuncturist, I started drinking a custom mix of Chinese herbs three times a day, along with wheatgrass juice, royal jelly, and a very clean diet; no caffeine, no sugar, very little gluten and wheat. I also increased my physical activity and began meditation to help with my stress and anxiety.

I wouldn't say doing these things got me pregnant, but I do think they helped me be as health as possible. And helped me feel in control of my health and body. Good luck to you!

  • Thanks! So you carried to term, or are currently pregnant and doing well? That's so great to hear - congratulations! The herbalists are making me some sort of "special brew", but I don't know what's in it. I just went in, told them I had trouble staying pregnant, and they said "oh, you should try this!" Obviously they can't make any claims as to the validity of the herbal assistance, but between her and I, she'd heard success stories, which is great! I'm also on red raspberry leaf tea a few times a day. My BIGGEST problem is water. I hate it!

Thanks again for responding! I'm optimistic about this little "experiment".

My acupuncturist took at complete medical and emotional history, evaluated my diet and lifestyle, then made her recommendations.  We did a lot work to balance my hormones, and manage stress.  I would say find a herbalist or homeopathic Dr. you trust if thats the route you want to go, I'd be a little skeptical of someone just saying  "oh you should try this", but if they are a trained herbalist they should know more than I do.
