My dad left Raleigh heading toward rocky mount around 12:30. He made it to his destination, normally a 45 minute drive, three hours later. He then bright my mom home, a 10 minute drive that took 30 minutes.
DH got off work this morning at 7 am, he's a paramedic. He went to class at the college and got home around 1:30. Was home five minutes and got called back into work. He should get off at 7 tomorrow morning but who knows when he will have to go back. Not fun!
I'm in the mountains and we're just now getting the legit stuff, but we're also equipped to deal with it (though I don't expect to be going to work tomorrow.)
We're good. Just ice, and never lost power at my house. And Betsy's school only had a two hour delay today instead of cancelling altogether, bless them.
I hear the Triangle is a mess. Glad to hear all of our NC bumpies are safe and sound!
I'm in the Southern Piedmont, and it has been snowing again here for probably two hours. I think yesterday we got about 6 inches, with a thick layer of ice on top. We aren't going anywhere for a while.

Oh, fun! Did y'all lose power? I feel like everyone I know did. We really lucked out at my house.
