Normal?

Almost 1 week into my miscarriage (8w), first few days the normal cramping/heavy bleeding and clotting. The past 3 days has been weird, at some point mid morning /early afternoon i get really bad cramps, lower back ache i bleed like crazy for about a hour and then light bleeding when using the bathroom until the next day when it starts again. is this ok to have just really bad cramps and bleeding once a day and then light. I really don't want to keep calling and bugging the nurses if this is something to be expected. But ive never had a miscarriage before, and they told me it was a complete one with nothing remaining. My Levels were at 581 Weds down from 8100 sat when the miscarriage started. i was figuring until my levels are down lower this was normal? Thanks for your opinions , this process is so draining.

I would call them and ask for an ultrasound to confirm there's no remaining tissue. I personally went the D&C route with both of mine, but I did read from other women that it would be the same time every day, last a few hours, then go away until they actually did miscarriage - after that they bled like a period up to a week afterwards. I'm not a doctor, but it sounds to me like you haven't passed everything yet.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. You should never feel like you're calling too often and bugging the nurses at your OB, and if they ever make you feel that way you should find a new doctor's office.

@elisemays yes i am from the sept 14 board. I miss it, sometimes i lurk on it but i feel like a stranger now.
I ended up putting a call into my ob office. My midwife was out of the office and i told a nurse my situation, she didn't seem concerned about it but said she would check with the other doctors there and call me back. which its late now so probably wont hear from them until Monday now. I am just ready for this to be over with so i can move on.

Hi ladies, I'm from the September 14 board also. I had my D&C today. Last night I had a cavity come loose and had to not only have the d and c today, but emergency dental surgery in order for the general anesthesia!

I'm sorry we're all here under these circumstances, but it's nice to reconnect.

I was on Sept 14 too...I can't bare to lurk. I get too sad. My last miscarriage was like that but it only lasted about 4 days or so. They had me go in for blood work 3 times to make sure the levels kept going down and the last blood draw I was almost at 0. I would get an ultrasound or blood draw in about a week to make sure everything is out. Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water and continue your prenatals because they have iron in them.

I'm so sorry we are all here...fingers crossed we can follow each other to the TTC board and then the next due date month board!

@Happymomtobe17 wow talk about having a bad day all around. I know how your feeling, my husband is away at work so i haven't seen him since the miscarriage and i am still having to get our 5 year old off to school and take care of our hunting dogs and house chores, seems like i haven't had much time to just relax yet. its nice to have this board to talk to people about it or i would probably be losing it by now.

@Maxsmommy123112 I go in for another beta draw in a week and a half, my MW wants to follow it down to <5 . I have been taking my prenatals still i plan to keep doing it nonstop. My MW wants me to wait 2-3 cycles before we start TTC again. Which at first i was bummed but now i think it will be ok, i really want a good outcome for the next time around, and if i were to MC again i just dont think i can handle another one right now.

Hey September gals - I hope everyone is over the portion of actually losing the babies and can now deal strictly with the emotional aspect of it. I got a lab update notification in my e-mail from my D&C and it said that I don't won't need a rhogam shot next pregnancy, so at least that's good news. My doctor said she thinks I have a clotting disorder that forms small clots in the placenta and a fetus can't grow past 8 weeks - I'm not sure if the rhogam test has anything to do with that or if it's a separate issue. I had my D&C last Thursday and they wanted me to follow up with my OB 2 weeks from then, so I'll probably call to schedule an appointment today.

dpalczer - I'm sorry that your husband is away at work and that you don't have the opportunity to just hole up and grieve, but I am glad that you have your 5 year old there to keep you occupied. I was off last Wednesday and went back to work Monday - as much as I was depressed and didn't want to come back, it is nice to be here and keeping my mind off the fact that I'm no longer carrying the twins.

I know it will be a while from now, but I would love to hear from each of you when you're able to conceive again - I know this isn't the board to do it, but if any of you want to share the news when the time comes feel free to shoot me a private message, we all deserve some good news!

I was also on the Sept 14 board, but was mostly a lurker. I think I only posted once. I have my D & C tomorrow, and don't think I could ever bring myself to look at that board again. (This was my first pregnancy.)

I'm sorry this is a total amateur thing, but what is BMB? I am totally in for this idea though! And @doknow I'm so sorry to hear - once I came out with my miscarriage, first and second, there were so many women that came out to say that they had a miscarriage and went on to have 1, 2 or more successful pregnancies. I hope that this first miscarriage will be your last.

@elisemays BMB is Baby month board. once you become pregnant you can join the board for your birth month and talk to all the ladies that are all pregnant and due the same month as you
