I'm sharing this because it's new info for me and I know there've been a few Doula discussions here.
Yesterday my acupuncturist told me that she can essentially perform the duties a Doula would (she didn't use the word "Doula"). She had already told me acupuncture can help start labor if needed when the time comes (a little more fine tuned than a pedicure lol). She said she could come to the hospital for the delivery to help with pain management, nerves, or taking the burden off DH if he needs a break.
I had been debating about using a Doula but since I already know my acupuncturist and have had such good results with her, I feel more comfortable going that route. It's another option for those of you looking for this type of support.
